00:00I was wondering if there was ever a point where you were like, what if Woody's not in this?
00:05Or was he always like, we have to have him back?
00:08I did admit that I didn't know how to bring him back at first.
00:11And so I just, because I know it's going to take so many drafts to get the movie right.
00:17I just wrote the first one without him just to see if I missed him.
00:20And I did.
00:21So I said, all right, we're going to have to work a little harder and figure out how to make
00:25this,
00:25make this not just a knee-jerk reaction and make it something that's earned to make him come in.
00:32And so we finally figured it out.
00:34And now it feels inevitable and like we should have, you know, can't imagine it any other way.
00:39It sits right with their relationships because I just buy that, of course, they would keep in touch.
00:43And there's just so much deep care there.
00:46So all of that felt very organic.
00:47My rule is if you take something out, especially a character, would the story be able to happen with or
00:52without them?
00:53And if it can't, that means good.
00:55That means that they had to be essential.
00:57No matter how much, it may not be obvious that the role they're playing in the movie.
01:00I just loved after our first teaser, like how much hate we were getting about like,
01:04I thought Woody was gone.
01:06And then the second trailer we showed, everybody's like, oh, I get it.
01:09He needed to come back.
