00:09Hours later, while taking out the trash outside his Ohio home, he suddenly collapsed.
00:14When Islam remained immobile and did not respond to its alerts, his Apple Watch automatically
00:19called 911 and shared his location.
00:22Islam now credits the watch with helping save his life.
00:25But how did he know he needed help?
00:47But the watch did not detect Islam's blood clots or diagnose a heart condition.
00:51Its motion sensors detected the heart fall and then noticed that he had stopped moving.
00:57And Islam's case isn't the only one.

01:06But does this technology only works so effectively in the United States?
01:11In the US this system works very efficiently because this ecosystem is synced with their

01:17In India it works a little differently.
01:19Yes, you can trigger the 112 health emergency and also your emergency contacts, but it doesn't
01:25work as fluidly as it works in the US.
01:27The answer is slightly more complicated.
01:30Fall detection, the ECG app and irregular rhythm notifications are available in India too.
01:35What differs is how easily the data can be integrated with hospitals and healthcare providers.
01:41The system doesn't work as efficiently in India because our medical infrastructure is
01:46a bit overwhelmed right now and we do not have like I said a comprehensive unified health
01:52data ecosystem in India which is why even doctors just reference this, they don't go
01:58by what the health data is recorded on the Apple watch.
