00:08I distinctly remember seeing the Jurassic Park movie for the first time.
00:13You know, jaws drop in the theater.
00:15It just blew my mind. I got to see dinosaurs and this time they were real.
00:21We'd been doing tests for a few years in CG and trying to sort of see what could come next
00:26and it was a big step between doing a crone figure to doing a skinned animal.
00:32And that was the leap we had to make.
00:34For this game, more so than any Jurassic Park game that has come before,
00:38we want to recreate the feeling of the films.
00:43In tone, in character, and certainly with the dinosaurs, feels like the original film.
00:49Players get to interact with these creatures that are so awesome and incredible on the big screen,
00:54and you want to dive into that world.
00:56Just eat!
00:57The T-Rex is like right on your heels, snapping at you,
01:00and if you don't get out of the way, you are going to get chomped.
01:03If you're not on your toes and the dinosaurs get the better of you,
01:08things can end quite poorly.
01:10We reached out to paleontologist Kevin Padian to essentially lecture the Jurassic Park team
01:17about some of the modern thinking on dinosaurs, what some of the new science tells us.
01:22So we didn't want to make up things that just really didn't fit the science at all.
01:25We took all this information, and we still felt that it was important to keep true to the movie.
01:29In general, we like to approach our dinosaurs as animals.
01:33They are very scary, but they're not monsters. They follow their nature.
01:37One of the things about animals is, to keep in mind always, is you never know what it's really going
01:42to do two seconds from now.
01:45It's not a dinosaur shooting game. We felt strongly that it really needed to be about a tooth and nail
01:51fight for survival, with escape being your goal.
01:58You couldn't really do a Jurassic Park game without Tyrannosaurus Rex.
02:02You have to know the rules that the film set up, which is, you know, if you don't move, the
02:07T-Rex can't see you.
02:08Of course we're going to see Velociraptors. Those are the smart guys. They're the ones that are always thinking about
02:12how they're going to get you next.
02:14They're clever girls. Very clever girls.
02:16Now there is a new threat in the park, a new dinosaur that nobody's ever seen before.
02:21The new dinosaur that we're introducing to Jurassic Park is one of the most fascinating dinosaurs in the fossil record.
02:27It's a nocturnal hunter. It hides in the shadows. So the jungles are even scarier, kind of knowing that there's
02:32something out there that's stalking you, kind of waiting for just the right moment to come in and attack.
02:36When you're first bitten, the poison rapidly results in disorientation, confusion, and hallucinations.
02:42This paralytic venom doesn't outright kill you. It leaves you alive. And you do not want to be left alive
02:49by this dinosaur.
02:50It's a slow, horrible, and fascinating death.
02:54We're being a little cagey with the details because characters in the game spend some time putting together those details
03:00as well.
03:00So you'll have to take a look at the game to see how it all pans out.
03:04We have this island full of extremely energetic beasts who are now freed from their cages.
03:10I don't know if it's a wonderful place to be, but it's a wonderful place to imagine and a thrilling
03:14place for us to put players.
03:16So if you want to go back to Isla Nublar, this is your opportunity.
03:34You want to go back?
03:35Go back!
03:36You
