00:20One of the things we really wanted to focus on for SOCOM 4 was telling a more cinematic narrative.
00:25You've got a problem with authority and that makes you a wild card. That gets people killed.
00:28Push the storytelling to realms that SOCOM game hasn't yet seen.
00:32You and I are nothing alike.
00:34If we provide an authentic experience, it's gonna feel real. It's gonna hit you in the gut.
00:47Okay, this is NATO Operations Commander. What's your status?
00:50Having the Operations Commander be our central character, we're able to tell his personal story and the story of his
00:55teammates and how they work together as a squad.
01:02In SOCOM 4, you're in charge of five characters. The first character is Opscom.
01:08Wells is kind of your grizzled veteran. He's seen it all. He's done it all. He's actually Ops Commander's right
01:15-hand man.
01:16There's also Schweitzer. He's kind of the beast on the group. His job is to suppress the enemy.
01:22A little bit later on in the campaign, you'll actually meet Chung and 45.
01:2745 is a Special Operations Soldier from Korea, and her specialty is covert actions.
01:34She's very good at close quarters combat.
01:37Let's see if you're as good as you say you are.
01:41I'm better.
01:42The Korean Special Forces actually do have female operatives within their ranks as well, so keeping with that authenticity.
01:53We're here to link up with the 45th Recon Detachment. Where's your commanding officer?
01:57You're looking at it. I'm the only officer left.
01:59The player is the leader of a Special Forces unit caught in a civil war in South Asia.
02:05Now you can fall in with me or wait here for help that isn't coming.
02:08Everything goes wrong, and they have to extract themselves and, if they can, complete the mission that they came in
02:15to do.
02:21We've tried to minimize the on-screen HUD and have more big events throughout the environment.
02:27Again, to get you feeling like you're really in the field in Southeast Asia and experiencing this SOCOM story.
02:39In order to have a thinking man shooter, you must also have an enemy that thinks.
02:43And that's exactly what we provide to the player.
02:46The AI is constantly changing the tactics based on the player's playstyle.
02:50No matter what the player does, the enemy AI will have an answer.
02:54It is so reactive that it actually makes you have to retreat and fall back.
02:58And the first time we saw this, I think we were all kind of surprised as developers.
03:02Whoa! I actually had to regroup my squad, fall back and reposition them to deal with these enemies coming at
03:07me.
03:07It's not enough to simply shoot straight, but to also think smart.
03:11It's all about teamwork and tactics and authenticity.
03:15And that's a key differentiator between our game and maybe something that someone else has to offer.
03:21And that's a key cosa shop in the world.
03:27Let's leave the game.
03:27All of thelist are pins in characters.
03:27Let's go.
03:27And make me.
03:27There's an assignment.
03:28I'm ready to go.
03:29By the way we'll keep it.
03:29I'm ready to take the game.
03:34Yeah, it's better.
