00:10One of the things we knew coming out of the gate with Gears 3 is that we wanted to make

00:22It's taking it to its max like the thing for us is we've had the most time to polish that

00:32This is that extra 10% it's the biggest campaign we've ever had it's got horde and beast and competitive

00:38And it's gonna be the best multiplayer we've ever had the most polished best Gears game that epic has ever

00:45Day one, it's hard to ship an online game and by having dedicated servers in a beta
00:48We're doing a darn good job of making sure we hit it right day one

01:21People ask me all the time is Gears 3 gonna play like Gears 1 or is it gonna play like

01:26Gears 3 is gonna play like Gears 3
01:28Gears 1 was really fast and we slowed down Gears 2 a little bit in terms of trying to again
01:33to make it more accessible
01:34And we felt like you know, I think a lot of feedback we've gotten from players is that we felt
01:38like they were the pendulum swung too far
01:40And so we've found this middle ground
01:44I think we found the sweet spot
02:02One of the new multiplayer modes that we're featuring in Gears of War 3 is team deathmatch
02:05Which has been in other games before but it's new to the franchise
02:08And we don't just want to cram it in there as you've seen it
02:11We want to put a Gears spin on it
02:12So it's actually a pool of lives that each team has
02:15You take out a bad guy
02:17You're taking away from their pool
02:18Ultimately resulting in them running out of lives
02:205-4-3-2-1
02:22As people are getting eliminated it gets down to 3-on-1
02:24That one guy can be clutch and take out those last three
02:26And win the match at which point everybody explodes in laughter
02:30Now that we're at the third game in the series
02:32We can have some of these unlocks that allow us to play with the formula a little bit
02:35People don't necessarily want to just represent themselves in a fiction, you know, appropriate way
02:41You know, the fact that people want to have a pink lancer, you know
02:45And they want to shoot people with a pink lancer because they think it's funny or whatever it may be
02:50One of the incredible benefits of being able to do a beta for this multiplayer
02:53Is that it's going to allow us to polish the entire multiplayer experience
02:58We have put so many hooks in this game to know how many people are being hit with which weapon
03:01Which weapon's doing the most damage?
03:03Who's being down on which part of the map?
03:05Who's being executed?
03:06Are people executing?
03:07All the stuff is being compiled in the back end
03:09So we can look at that and make a proper decision about how to balance the full game
03:46Who's being initiated by The Alpha
03:48Who's being defeated or kicked into the top of the map?
