00:12Hi, I'm Damian, I'm the singer in OKGO, and we are here with Palabalos, the dance company,
00:19making a video, or like an HTML5 interactive video experience.
00:25I think that this collaboration started as a sort of three-way, mutual adoration society,
00:30between the rock band, OKGO, this incredibly groundbreaking dance company, Palabalos,
00:36and sort of little old me, the person that collaborates with OKGO a lot on their videos.
00:41To work with real dancers here with Palabalos has been really inspiring and shaming.
00:47Like, they really, they're good at this, and we are not.
00:52Lily and I thought for a long time now that it would be amazing to make a dance that exists
00:57not just on a live stage,
00:59but that the same idea can express itself in different media.
01:03We thought that the ideal people to try to explore this with would be OKGO.
01:08It just kind of grew naturally over the course of some lunches and some discussions over the last few years,
01:12and then we gradually started to sort of hone a plan to sort of put together what we hope is
01:18kind of a new, fresh approach to dancing,
01:22and gravity, and rock bands, and music videos, and live performance all sort of like mashed into one.
01:28We don't tend to make videos in like the standard top-down way where there's a director and a preconceived
01:33idea
01:34and then it's fully formed and ready to execute.
01:36We usually sort of find groups of collaborators or individual collaborators who think have really great ideas
01:41and then just sort of like poke at that idea or that person.
01:45Globless is always interested in sort of shifting perspective and being able to represent multiple perspectives to very different effect.
01:52These ideas just kind of like multiply as they go and the more you just kind of keep saying yes
01:57to them
01:58and don't filter yourself too much as you go, the more you later have all this wealth of material to
02:03choose from.
02:04And the good ideas just usually sort of seem obvious or the good concepts or the cool images just kind
02:09of like pop out after a while.
02:12And it kind of seems effortless then, you know, you've just said yes to a bunch of stuff and then
02:16it's really clear what to do next.
