00:00I see a journey, a man crossing the sand.
00:07My big inspiration comes from Frank Frazetta.
00:09You see those paintings and it's like, when I saw him as a kid, I'm like, who is that?
00:12What do I have to read to know about that guy?
00:15That's my, that was my Conan.
00:22I wanted him to move like a cat, nimble and quick and like a product of the environment.
00:27And just his muscles to be sinewy and he's primal and feral like a cat.
00:31What he feels cold is the cold edge of steel.
00:35His name is Conan.
00:37Conan, he's a childhood favorite. I'm like, I don't want to play Batman or Spider-Man.
00:41I mean, he's, to me, I love the idea that he's not a superhero. He's this anti-hero.
00:44He fights, he's a pirate, he's a thief. You know, he's got, he's flawed.
00:50And, and, and that's fun to play.
00:52It's the man who killed my father.
00:55Run from me and I will tear apart the mountains to find you.
00:57Who are you?
00:58I'm the one who will follow you to hell.
01:00The whole part of like, run from me and I'll tear apart the mountains to find you.
01:04I'll follow you to hell. Like those were in the script.
01:06I wanted to find moments where we can take Robert E. Howard's quotes.
01:09Cause it's hard to translate 1930s into, in those books.
01:14And you want to put that philosophy of Robert E. Howard's, of Conan's philosophy in this movie.
01:20And, you know, there's, you know, a couple of moments we can honor that.
01:23Your reward.
01:24I do not want your gold.
01:26No? Then what?
01:28I want your head.
01:31Kill him. Then bring me the girl.
01:43The big nervous thing was like, do we have, you know, is this the right Conan?
01:48You know, obviously the look of the world.
01:50And now that we have those two things completely eliminated from the story.
01:54And, um, we got Robert E. Howard's great stories.
01:56We, I just have an idea of where I would want to do as an actor playing the role.
02:00I think there's some, some stuff I would love to, to get out.
02:03And also it's the villain.
02:04And I think I have a really good idea of what I want to do for the, for that.
02:07I just don't really want to write it.
02:09It's just a matter of, it's a collaborative process.
02:11And I want to, you know, be a part of it.
02:12And like, well, this is what we can get out of, out of Conan.
02:16And I know I can get to this place and hear some ideas.
02:18And it's really just getting in there and being excited to do the next one.
