00:09I'm Tommy T from The Steel Seat with Cersei.
00:11Cersei promoter Leaview Birmingham.
00:13Right now we're at the best of all, where the gal get nothing but chest of all.
00:16Oh sure nothing but chest of all.
00:19The t-shirt design, basically I made some t-shirts of my last album called Skanky Skanky
00:23and we made a whole different design of colours and with the new record it was like my friend
00:27who did all the designs DJ Pipe said let's try and do a t-shirt for every tune.
00:30And that's a bit mental art, let's do it.
00:33Anyway so we made a t-shirt for every tune, the title of the album is Watch Me Dance
00:36and this is the t-shirt that goes with the title track and album.
00:41And I collaborated with a brand called Drop Dead which is a Sheffield based brand
00:45and the kid who owns it is in a band called Bring Me The Horizon which is like really hardcore
00:49rock thrash
00:50which couldn't be further away from what me and Cersei do.
00:53Absolutely, can you dance though?
00:55Can he dance?
00:56Well why should we make the camera watch you dance though?
00:58Hang on, let's not go too far.
01:01So from there because of the Sheffield connection we linked up, we did some stuff together
01:04and me and Drop Dead make this product here and you can buy it if you want as well
01:09but on top of that it is the cover of the record.
01:12Basically it got leaked, it's cool, it was always going to get leaked, it got leaked very early
01:15which frustrated me because it kind of mashed up my plan but it was always going to happen
01:18and my record label took it on itself to expose the person which I thought was funny and totally like
01:24justified them.
01:26Is that person still doing what they're doing anymore?
01:29I've never heard of him in the first place.
01:30Ex. Yeah.
01:31Out to Benjamin Yeager from Spin Magazine, promos in your inbox might not be seen anymore?
01:37Never.
01:39I'm working on a reel, I'm working with a reggae artist from one called Gappy Ranks.
01:43Me!
01:44Miss Sprat I'm working with, Sam Frank, this new girl from Cleo Song is absolutely brilliant from West London.
01:50Because I've finished my album I can just have fun again and not have to work towards a certain thing.
01:53The album was amazing to work on but now I can just say,
01:55Severs here come studio!
01:57And he'll say, $75,000.
01:59But most people will say, I'll be there.
02:01And we just do it.
02:02So, yeah.
02:02I'm just having fun again.
02:03It's really good.
02:04I don't think he's dying.
02:06I think relatively just music goes in fashion and trends
02:08and right now we're in the middle of an electronic stage.
02:12However, that kind of rock mentality still very much exists.
02:15When I walked in here today, Schema Menga played, who I really respect and like.
02:19They played a dubstep track which was very, very heavy.
02:22And then they played Rage Against The Machine.
02:24Then they played another dubstep track.
02:25And the mentality of the ravers was amazing.
02:28Mosh pits, people losing their mind to it.
02:30People always want that vibe, even if it's not with a straight guitar vibe.
02:33And right now in this dubstep era where people can still do that to electronic music.
02:36So even though guitar music isn't as popular as it was,
02:39you can still mosh out to electronic music if you want to.
02:42Personally, I don't do that.
02:43Sorry, I hate to cut you, but can I take you back last week
02:47to what you did when the kids were moshing to your set?
02:50What did I do?
02:52You started playing gal to you.
02:53Okay, like, I've got a problem with moshing, it's fine,
02:56but when it comes to when I DJ, I don't really like moshing
02:58because in my type of music, I don't want to sound prejudiced,
03:04but there's quite a lot of men there and girls struggle with some of the music.
03:07And when men are jumping around and the only three girls at the front
03:10are getting an elbow in the face.
03:11Yeah, you had to.
03:11I need to tell the guys to settle.
03:13Yes.
03:13And that's why I pronounce it.
03:14Some kids were moshing.
03:15I said, just stop.
03:16They'll play the tune for the ladies.
03:17I personally don't want to rock.
03:18I want to roll.
03:20I understand that.
03:21However, I like to crowd surf.
03:24And we've done that many times.
03:25So if you play too much gal to you, there's too many women in the front
03:28and there's a problem when I get out of there.
03:30Anyway, back to the point.
03:32Even though guitar music might be dead in theory,
03:34I think it's the mentality of rocking is in full effect of people
03:37like Skrillex, Rusko, Scream and Benga sometimes.
03:41You can still have that mentality.
03:43I love it.
03:44I saw it on TV, I was like, wow, he's gone in.
03:47I felt a bit jealous that he got a better haircut than me to be honest
03:50because even though he's a superstar and stuff,
03:53I still thought my hair game was a bit tight
03:54because we've got a similar complexion.
03:57We're from the same ends, kind of.
03:59But when he got a better haircut than me, I felt a bit weird.
04:01I was like...
04:03Have you seen Alex Turner's haircut?
04:05I might have to step up.
04:06Have you seen Alex Turner's haircut?
04:07No, but...
04:08He's got like a fifties type of vibe.
04:10Oh.
04:10Like short back and side.
04:11Oh, with the...
04:13Oh, shucks.
04:14The part as well.
04:15Yeah, yeah, yeah.
04:16Oh.
04:16You might have to step your game up.
04:19So what happens when things like that happen
04:21means I just have to step my game up.
04:22And that's what I'm going to have to do.
04:23So next week you might see me with some new style.
04:26You're not going to give them a clue
04:28to what you might rock?
04:29I don't know.
04:30I need to think about it for a minute.
04:32What do you think I should get?
04:33Dredd one.
04:33Dredd, yeah.
04:34Dredd could work.
04:35After that festival.
04:36Yeah, people say I'm the king of digital dance
04:38all in the UK, so...
04:40Dredd would be white.
04:41Wonderful.
04:41And here we go James.
04:41Here we go.
04:42Bye mate.
04:43I hate perfect.
04:44Thanks.
