00:00So now I'd like to ask Jennifer Hegseth to say a few words, followed by Pete, General Cain,
00:06and then I will sign the executive order putting this into play.
00:10And it's an order that's long overdue, as far as I'm concerned, like by decades.
00:16And we're going to do a real job with it. And Jennifer, if you will, please.
00:21Well, Mr. President, you have been a champion for the military, and we are so grateful for that, and that
00:25continues today.
00:26And like you said, these are generational issues that are long overdue to address.
00:32And we have the most amazing women here who have decades of experience as military spouses themselves to take a
00:39look at it.
00:39There's really nothing we're going to find that they haven't experienced.
00:42And so between what they've experienced and what they know, we're going to really tackle these things.
00:48And I've spent the last year traveling around, meeting with military spouses and families around the world and around the
00:55country,
00:55and it's the same from Kentucky to Singapore. It's housing, it's health care, it's employment, it's child care, it's education.
01:03And so we're going to take a look at all of those things.
01:05Even one of the women up here, I won't say who, but was a paramedic.
01:09And as they moved from state to state, she could not get the license.
01:13Switch to that state in time before you move again, before you PCS.
01:17And it makes it really difficult for these families to survive, let alone all the other sacrifices we're asking for
01:22them.
01:23So this is a big deal today. We're super grateful.
01:26Every time Pete travels around to the troops, he tells them,
01:32the President has your back, and now the families know that you have their back too.
01:36And we are grateful. Thank you.
