07:39And yeah, obviously you will lend out for the second position.
07:39Well, Wachlam is and he must have lit up part for the outstretched leg on Manny Fernandez.
07:45He was in on goal.
07:53Looks a technique to look on in and Sapsford could be in here.
07:57Ne Cafvers just to check back, back comes Sterling and a short wall off target in the end.
08:02тем 모uvist dominator pace to accelerate away, venting up with별.
08:05And the flip on there by Will Ferry,
08:09Stirling on the cover, close to Boyd.
08:20Kisama throws it on from Nadiri,
08:22come to Shanklin instead, he lays it back for Diamandis.
08:26Going to Stirling now.
08:29Swings it in, Nadiri's there, now we're hitting our good save.
08:33I just have been creeping wide.
08:35Jack Walton wasn't taking any chances.
08:42Back into the United box, Romans will collect.
08:48Good ball then, Shanklin couldn't get there,
08:51lashed back across goal, but into the side netting only.
08:56Well, they're trying to just guide it in.
08:59And Jack Walton was absolutely right to push that away.
09:07Of course, some issues for that Rangers backlight.
09:12Nadiri's again deflected wide.
09:16Well, that could have gone anywhere.
09:18The shot looked to be on target.
09:21It's Oskar, who makes the crucial block.
09:25Romans can't get it beyond Rose,
09:27and United could try and count it here.
09:32Randall, can't just pick up again, though.
09:40Salah, it spins away from Tiet.
09:42It's a bit of movement, Stirling provides it.
09:46Just looking to get bodies into the box.
09:49Still Dujon Stirling, he takes the shot on himself when he's not far away.
09:54He's scored in the last meeting, Dujon Stirling the 4-2 victory at Ibrox last season.
09:59And he's only inches away from providing the opener there.
10:04Kinnisand, Dujon Stirling the 4-2 victory at Ibrox last season.
10:07Served on United well.
10:11Trying to find a way to outdo them this evening, though.
10:15As Gossama stumbles, keeps possession.
10:21Romans gets it back here to Diamonde, it's not too far away, just too high.
10:28I think they're home for the shot, and couldn't keep it down.
10:44It's a very right to Ferry.
10:52Rose, outnumbered, but still manages to keep possession.
10:57Here's Randle, it's Rose, it's in!
11:01Lachlan Rose puts Dundee United in front.
11:08What a moment for the Australian to grab his first lead goal for United.
11:16On such a big occasion.
11:20Relation in the Dundee United end.
11:24Nice terrific work from Randle.
11:29And Rose might not know too much about that.
11:35But the end product was exactly what he was looking for.
11:43It's already a fourth goal of the season.
11:46..for Lachlan Rose.
12:06Gisama, still Jiri Gisama, that's wild.
12:16He did everything right up until the finish, gliding away from a couple of challenges, making the room for himself.
12:27Jim Goodwin content to send out the same XI that started the game and has managed to get their side
12:35in front.
12:38So on comes Dan Neal for the first appearance competitively for Rangers,
12:46Yusuf Cermiti, surprise omission from the starting XI,
12:52comes on to try and rescue this game for Danny McInnes' side.

13:31He also turns it behind, Rangers corner.
13:37He can do an early goal back in the second half.
13:48Post ball, Fernandes is there, Rangers turn it home,
13:52it's Cermiti, first one's blocked, so is the second one,
13:55and United survive.
14:01The body's being put on the line there,
14:04as Roman sends it back in,
14:06a decent ball,
14:07for another Rangers corner.
14:14Fernandes gets this back across goal,
14:17he's just begging to be turned in,
14:19but Agui in the end putting his body in the way.
14:26Nice guard again.
14:32Top three just corner in quick succession.
14:36He's taken short.
14:38Swung in, there's a header, it should have been a goal from Fernandes.
14:42But Walton keeps it out.
14:45That is a huge opportunity for Fernandes.
14:49They'll know he should have been sending that one into the back of the net.
15:05Asghar, he's got Neil in support, back onto the right foot though, and Asghar!
15:09That's a really good save from a really good effort from Asghar.
15:13Up a gear, they scored.
15:17A real cracker against United last season.
15:20Wasn't quite heading top corner, but nonetheless, a good save from the United keeper.
15:28Asghar returns it.
15:31Asghar to Fernandes.
15:34Dispossessed though.
15:37And lighted on the counter at Sapsford.
15:40For Rose.
15:42Couldn't quite fall for Randle.
15:50That's Daniel leading the charge.
15:53Good ball, it's Cermiti.
15:55Tight angle, saved.
15:57Comes for Diamante, and that's blocked on the line.
16:09Offside flag up.
16:13That's for Cermiti earlier in the move, so it wouldn't have counted anyway.
16:34Speedy.
16:36Shapland uses strength.
16:38Asghar, to out, but Asghar!
16:40There it is, the equaliser!
16:42Absolutely smashed into the back of the net from Tello Asghar.
16:48and the Rangers have upped the ante in this second half,
16:52and they're back on level terms.
16:57Shatley just backing in slightly there, and it falls kindly for Asghar,
17:01who doesn't need asking twice,
17:03and there's no way Walton was keeping that out of the back of the net,
17:07as Asghar, who scored a couple against United last season,
17:12gives his side back level at the start of the second period, and it's game on.
17:23Oh, he enjoyed that, didn't he?
17:31Huge throw in, out comes Panduri hasn't gathered,
17:34Rangers scrambling, it's Fernandes, and then Asghar.
17:45Could be a Rangers free kick in the end.
17:50Pandur, not inspiring confidence there,
17:52and Fernandes goes down so quickly by Ferry.
18:03Seem to be passed to the ground there, but also nothing wrong with it.
18:08That's certainly going to be a free kick,
18:10and a yellow card for Buzon Sterling.
18:13Flew in and took Benny out of play.
18:27Ferry's free kick.
18:30Ferry's free kick.
18:31Yohu, comes for a handball, nothing given,
18:35and the Rangers try and dig it out.
18:37Ferry returns it.
18:41Kavanaugh forward this time, going by Sterling.
18:46Could be a little bit nervey in the last ten minutes or so.
18:53Champions team out.
18:54We're going to find Shanklin, what a ball that is,
18:56Shanklin with a good first touch.
18:59Great challenge, though, by Will Ferry.
19:02Khoury's done well to keep that alive.
19:15Khoury's done well to keep that alive.
19:20Stepping forward.
19:23Khoury.
19:26Asghar, what an attempt that would have been.
19:30Wide a target.
19:32Full of confidence.
19:34Tell him Asghar didn't quite get it right.
19:41Kicked in by Romans.
19:43The Rangers look for what might be a winning goal.
19:49Romans who sends it in a little bit too deep.
19:54Benny will gather, chased by Curtis.
19:56That's a good challenge from the young man.
19:59He's lost out second time to Benny.
20:03He's picked out a terrific pass,
20:05and there's a chance here for United to win it potentially.
20:09Well, it's a really poor finish in the end from Randall.
20:13That is a match-winning opportunity.
20:17Passed up.
20:19Team effort right into the arms of Pandur.
20:29Comes for Asghar.
20:32Back to McCrory.
20:36Now Daniel.
20:39Shanklin.
20:41Back to Neil once more.
20:45Can't find a teammate.
21:01All that is from Daniel Benny.
21:06Jesse Randa will know.
21:08Won't get too many better opportunities than that to win the match.
21:15Well, Pandur would have been absolutely delighted.
21:19Mightily relieved.
21:22We can't believe it.
21:23Jack for theёл risk.
21:29Jack for the lockdown.
21:32Jack for the lockdown,
21:32will take this throw in.
21:37Rocks,
21:38is clear.
21:39Gey trying to get back into the box, there's Cermiti now,
21:43as Rangers look to counter in the last minute, no way through, though.
21:53Diamandis picked up for Rangers, stumbling, still in possession,
21:57into the box he goes, Gey with the challenge, it's a goal kick.
22:02It looked like, at first glance, Gey slid that behind.
22:13Let's take a look, Walsh feels this came off Diamandis last.
22:20I think he's right, in fairness to the referee.
22:32Full-time at Tatterdice, and the long wait for both these sides for an opening day victory continues.
22:39Derek McInnes' Rangers dropping points on the opening day,
22:45earning a point thanks to Tello Asghar's terrific equaliser.
22:53United, who led through Lachlan Rose, fully deserving, you have to say, of the point.
23:02And so both sides have to settle for a share of the spoils.
23:09And then McInnes, there's something to say to the match officials,
23:14whether it's just about that corner kick award or something more,
23:19but either way, it is.
23:24Another opening day, another failure to get all three points.
23:29which could ultimately prove to be pivotal,
23:36but there's still such a long way to go.
23:42Regardless, United can be very content with the performance they put in.
23:47Work to do for both sides.
23:50We are at Tatterdice.
23:52On the opening day of the season, it finishes.
23:55Dundee United won, Rangers won.
23:59And now let's get some post-match reaction.
24:02Yeah, I don't think we were good enough to win the game.
24:06Clearly, I thought the point was the right score line.
24:10And we're disappointed with that.
24:11I felt that the first half, we wasted a lot of it.
24:14You know, we didn't create too much.
24:15I thought it was a bit too frantic.
24:17We anticipated Dundee United coming after us.
24:20And we tried to engage with our strikers.
24:22And we never really connected the game well enough.
24:25Looked after the ball well enough.
24:27And it was a poor goal.
24:30And I thought some of the play, the second half, was good.
24:34I felt the equaliser was coming.
24:35I thought the desire to get the equaliser was clear.
24:38And I've got the credit of the players for that.
24:40But then, I don't think we've done enough after that.
24:42And that's the bit that's frustrating me a wee bit.
24:45The desire to get the equaliser wasn't quite mirrored.
24:48But the desire to go and get the winner.
24:49And I just thought we were played in fits and starts after that.
24:51And it's the first game of the season, competitive game.
24:54And nobody's going to be perfect.
24:55And a draw on the road after going behind isn't the worst result.
25:00But we came here to win.
25:01And we want to make sure we come here with the intention of winning games of football.
25:06And we've got to be honest and say that we've not done enough today.
25:09We look for those improvements as we go along.
25:13And we will improve.
25:14We're still looking for a few additions to the squad.
25:18And it's clear we're still looking for that.
25:20And we need those in certain areas.
25:24And the squad will look a lot differently, I think, when the window closes, as it does now.
25:29But we're trying to be as right as we can be now.
25:31Because every game is vitally important.
25:33We're getting a European tie.
25:36And we could still do a couple of those players landing for us as quickly as possible.
25:41Well, I'm obviously very pleased with the overall performance.
25:44I thought the first half was excellent.
25:45I thought we were the better team.
25:47Obviously, Rangers make changes then at halftime and put us on the back foot for the opening 10 or 15
25:53minutes period of that second 45 minutes.
25:55But I think on the balance of play, when you break down all the different metrics that we look at
26:02and analyze games with,
26:04a draw is probably fair.
26:06But I can't get away from the fact that we missed that glorious chance at the end where, you know,
26:12Randall's through one-on-one and you're thinking that's the moment.
26:14And, you know, a poor decision-making from him in that moment.
26:18I don't think he'll make that choice the next time that opportunity comes up.
26:23You know, with the recruitment, we've got 10 new faces coming in, we've changed the system and we're trying to
26:29gradually change the style of play as well.
26:32And I thought there was some really good passages of play in the opening 45 minutes in particular, where we've,
26:37you know, building from deep,
26:38playing through into midfield, out the opposite side and, you know, getting chances and getting into dangerous areas off the
26:44back of playing that way.
26:45But I thought the decision-making from the players, you know, during the whole game was really, really good.
26:50We have got great pace at the top end of the pitch and I thought we chose to play the
26:56right pass more often than not.
26:57You know, sometimes it was on to play short, other times it was on to go and lengthen the game
27:00and get the opposition turned.
27:02And, you know, it was a really pleasing opening night performance.
27:07You know, we're not getting carried away, it's only a point at the end of the day.
27:09We wanted all three, but I think to get that point on the board early is important.
27:13Well, the action continues all weekend here on BBC Scotland.
