00:00I don't think the Iranian regime has ever faced a president like President Trump,
00:03which is someone that actually takes action.
00:05You know, they got used to, for 20 or 30 years, not just the U.S., but the broader world,
00:09allowing them to get away with things like lying, breaking deals,
00:12tricking people into agreements, and so forth.
00:15In this particular case, it's pretty straightforward.
00:17Iran wants an nuclear weapon, and they were building a conventional missile shield
00:21they were going to hide behind.
00:22In essence, they wanted to be in a position, a year and a half from now,
00:26to be able to say, we have so many drones and so many missiles,
00:28you can't possibly defend against them.
00:31That's the place they wanted to get to.
00:32President Trump said, I'm not going to let you get to that place.
00:35And he went after, wiped out their Navy, wiped out their Air Force,
00:39wiped out their missile defenses, wiped out their launchers,
00:42wiped out their factories that make all of these things,
00:44and severely degraded their defense capabilities.
00:47Now, they still have missiles, and they still have drones, and they can still do damage,
00:50but they no longer have that shield, that conventional shield that they could hide behind.
00:54And that's changed the whole dynamic.
00:56It's the only reason why they are now willing, and in some cases seem eager,
01:00to do a deal on denuclearization, to do a deal on the Straits,
01:03because we're now approaching them from a position of strength,
01:06not from a position of weakness,
01:08which is what they perceived from previous administrations,
01:10and frankly, from the world writ large.
