00:03India is everything it's not just one thing it's many different countries all
00:10in one diversity in unity cultures and regions it's eternal you cannot show
00:18India you can show an essence of a place when we started talking about it
00:24was quite clear to me that I couldn't do this project on my own I have no right
00:29to do it on my own and when they said well Mr. Raghur Rai will be part of it it
00:34was like wow
00:34he's for me it's like a photography god so originally when my father was putting it
00:40together the idea was to have his older unpublished works as the backdrop frame and then we were
00:47supposed to be in a studio but what then I decided when I took this forward was he belonged to
00:53the
00:53streets so I took the same idea into the streets to the people that he has photographed all his
01:01life no one's done it twice in a row and no one has done it in a collaboration with another
01:07photographer I'm concentrating on portraits of people from this country and then I'm leaving
01:12Avani the harder job of trying to capture more the soul of it it is a very spiritual back and
01:20forth that
01:20I'm trying to have with where I come from my father he would say I'm looking for the divine in
01:27every
01:27frame and the thing is I'm looking for him is beautiful it was clear to me that it had to
01:35have
01:35color a certain richness you know there's a contrast yeah and the women
01:48we wanted to have women from India or with Indian heritage there's poets there's musicians there's
01:55architects models actresses the idea is you see the frame that my father has photographed decades ago
02:02and I stand behind him at the back of him I frame his work and I frame the reality that

02:10years later it's the essence it's a feeling of what India feels like there's a richness there's a
02:22complexity there's a colorful nurse hopefully there's a synergy in both the people and the soul from India in
02:30one calendar
