00:00Well, it doesn't come much more iconic than Yankee Stadium, the home of the New York Yankees,
00:07and once very briefly, the home of Andoni Iriola when he played his football in New York for New York
00:15City FC.
00:16It's the second game of Liverpool's pre-season.
00:21The first, a winning trip to Nashville, and a victory over Premier League opposition in Sunderland.
00:28And tonight, well, it's perhaps football's big story, and certainly one of the big stories in America,
00:34given the amount of viewers that the TV documentary has had in Wrexham with their Hollywood ownership.
00:43Tonight, of course, they are a championship side going up against the might of Liverpool.
00:50Well, there was rotation, of course, from a starting XI the other night,
00:53but Lewis Koumas, who came on and scored, of course, in Nashville,
00:57does get the start up front alongside young Josh Abe and Callum Scanlon.
01:02And Dominic Sommerslai and Trey Nione, so, so impressive in Nashville when they came on,
01:07will anchor the Liverpool midfield tonight.
01:10Again, there are problems at the heart of the defence,
01:12but Ife Año Ndukwe really did impress the other night.
01:16And many of these will become household names in the months and the years to come by the documentaries that
01:23are made,
01:23but in Oli Rothborn and Sam Smith, Wrexham do carry a real threat up front.
01:28The likes of Paul Mullin have gone now, they've moved on,
01:31and the tale now is to be made by the likes of Smith and Kayla Dunne and Rathbone
01:37and Bailey Kadamarty, who's on the bench for them tonight.
01:41But Wrexham start the season as not exactly firm favourites for promotion,
01:46but a side that is hotly tipped to challenge for a place in the Premier League.
02:09Well, that's a lovely ball that's played on towards Josh Arby!
02:13And Danny Ward is able to make the save.
02:16What a chance that was for the 16-year-old to make quite the start.
02:21In his first start for Liverpool.
02:24Well, first opportunity the game goes to Liverpool,
02:27and it really should have ended it with a goal, to be quite honest with you.
02:36That's Neone.
02:40Again, stepping in with the challenge.
02:44Smith able to help it back towards Caledale at one, and this is Lewis Kumas!
02:51Well, he doesn't need asking twice.
02:54Danny Ward, the former Liverpool goalkeeper,
02:57going to thrust himself across his goal.
03:00Phil Parkinson, he's done exceptionally well to get Wrexham to where they are.
03:07Can he take them one more step?
03:08That's the dream, that's the goal.
03:14Elliot, lovely take.
03:17Kumas,
03:18Scanlon,
03:21Danny Ward makes a save.
03:23It's Kumas.
03:27And he flags up anyway.
03:31Well, again, Liverpool utilising that space between the lines.
03:36It's Harvey Elliot that comes in in a central position,
03:39and that pass there, well,
03:42he just goes a little bit too early,
03:44does young Scanlon.
03:58And that's a ball towards Smith.
04:01And Mamadash really
04:03unable to come and gather.
04:05Well, it could have possibly been offside.
04:08Mamadash really is a big obstacle when he comes out like that.
04:21The Scanlon's been run out of the ball there.
04:24Just showed a little bit of like naivety there,
04:27young Scanlon,
04:27like trying to do something in an area where
04:30if you do lose it,
04:32well,
04:33you get sometimes often punished,
04:35especially in the Premier League.
04:36That's a nice piece of skill.
04:38The shot in the end was asking just a bit too much to come out.
04:41back from Davies Kaira Dunn.
04:44Yeah, he gets a little bit of the brick bounce to the ball,
04:46Kaira Dunn,
04:47but he takes full advantage off it.
04:53Well, it's given away by Ndukwe.
04:57Helped on by Smith,
04:58lucky for Rathboad.
05:00It's a really good read to cut the ball out.
05:02Here comes Dominic Sobos-like.
05:04He's turned on the after-jets there.
05:07Kermas' run.
05:11The screams are more from the crowd than from the players.
05:16About a potential foul.
05:18The referee did have a look over to his assistant on that far side.
05:22I don't think it was a penalty in all fairness.
05:27Well, he came out and then he got himself back in, did the youngster.
05:49James with the corner.
05:51Met by Doyle.
05:54A little straight at Mahmoud, this really needed to be as well.
05:58A comfortable save for Liverpool's goalkeeper.
06:07The ball will fall down that was looking for Kaira Dunn.
06:13It comes out to O'Brien.
06:16That's Thomasson with the cross.
06:18It's a good ball as well.
06:21And it was one of those that you just had to stab at and hope at
06:24and try to get there.
06:26It's exactly what Ryan Logman tried to do.
06:28Couldn't quite get it back towards the goal.
06:32It will find Dominic Soboslai.
06:39And Soboslai's take.
06:43Moving at pace, Simikas.
06:46Kumas getting the shot away but was well charged down.
06:50Soboslai!
06:51Well, he lit up the night in Nashville with a screamer.
06:55And but for a deflection.
06:57He might have had another one there.
07:07He's taken twist by Kaira Dunn.
07:09They've lost the momentum, they've lost the ball as well.
07:14Here come Liverpool again.
07:18It's Kumas, it's Elliot.
07:20And Ward is called upon to make the save.
07:23Feels really well, Harvey Elliot.
07:25Difficult ball to take there.
07:27And a little cut back by Kumas.
07:30Finding Harvey Elliot on the edge of the box.
07:33And well, he's got a lot to do to get that on target, Harvey Elliot.
07:38And from one iconic sporting venue, it's off to another at the weekend when they take on Leeds United at
07:46Soldier Field.
07:48The home of the Chicago Bears, that's Soboslai with the hit.
07:53And that's well saved again by Danny Ward.
07:56Didn't quite get hold of it.
07:57Lovely first touch, just sets it up beautifully to get a strike on goal.
08:12It's nicely on the set.
08:13A little bit of space wide left.
08:16As the ball was delivered looking for Kikachi.
08:19And then the save by Mamadashvili.
08:22Got the save from a long way away.
08:24And he still had to deal with it.
08:27As you see so often, players cutting in on that right foot, getting the shot off.
08:32Comfortable save.
08:42It's all ready, Kane.
08:44It's a good lay-off for Soboslai.
08:46Now Ingramor.
08:50Deflection.
08:51And in.
08:55They just backed off Rio Ingramor.
08:58And paid the ultimate price.
09:01Liverpool get their goal.
09:04And lighting up New York City is Rio Ingramor.
09:09That was a massive slice of luck.
09:11But what you have to say is he does ask questions, Rio Ingramor, doesn't he?
09:14He's direct.
09:15He picks the ball up.
09:16He wants to go at people.
09:18And when you're in areas like where he finds himself here, why not?
09:22And it causes defenders all sorts of problems.
09:25You can see they're backing off, backing off.
09:28Right inside their 18-yard box, and that just invites the shot.
09:32And yes, he gets a bit fortunate, but you deserve your luck really there.
09:48If you were to go from here to where the World Cup final was played, you'd have to cross over
09:54two rivers.
09:55Manhattan, and work your way all the way over to New Jersey.
10:02It's a bit of a trek.
10:04It's not actually that far, it's just a bit of a trek.
10:16Dobson with the corner, and it's a free header in the end.
10:21Arriving from deep at the six-yard line.
10:26It's Kluwerth that gets his head on it, isn't it?
10:41Liverpool have their goal through this man, Rio Ingramoa, albeit via the aid of a big deflection.
10:56Simikas, right making the jump in the end, it's the defender who puts the ball wide.
11:01Lewis Brunc, and he puts it a whisker wide of an own goal.
11:05Well, it's a lovely little ball, isn't it, by Simikas.
11:14Nice little step, it's come away by James.
11:22That's a decent ball as well, which is very well delivered.
11:27And it's a great chance for Kiefer Moore that's put over the top.
11:30Well, they're working really well down the left-hand side, the Wrexham creates the opportunity.
11:49It's a little careless from Curtis Jones, it is well seized upon.
11:58It's a ball that's turning through, and that's Moore.
12:14Simikas in the way.
12:20Wrexham still trying to find themselves an equaliser in the little time that remains.
12:28It will be a foul and a free kick.
12:32Well, this is certainly an advantage that they have, I think,
12:34but they can get good delivery into the box.
12:38Everyone by the goalkeeper forward for Wrexham.
12:46It's going to need retrieving.
12:50Derby Frimpong did enough.
12:52And in doing enough there means that Liverpool have done enough tonight in New York City.
13:00And once again, the start that is real in glow, shining bright.
13:05Yes, it took a deflection on the way through,
13:07but it was his shot that was going goal-bound that got a touch on the way through.
13:12And Liverpool complete their night in the Big Apple with a victory,
13:17just as they did in Nashville the other night.
13:20Wrexham healthy opposition,
13:23but it's another win for Andoni Arreola.
13:26Liverpool 1-0, Wrexham.
13:28Liverpool 1-0.
13:28Whoah!
13:29Liverpool 1-0.
13:30Liverpool 1-0.
