00:51and they haven't found Mr. Hoffa since.
00:54Hoffa, who spent more than four years in jail
00:56for jury tampering and mail fraud,
00:59has been trying to regain presidency of the union
01:01from Frank Fitzsimmons, who succeeded him.
01:04Three weeks ago, a car owned by Fitzsimmons' son,
01:08who is vice president of Hoffa's old Detroit Teamsters local,
01:11was blown up.
01:12Young Fitzsimmons was not hurt.
01:14And Hoffa, in his most recent interview,
01:16decried that violence that has beset the local.
01:19Here is some of what Hoffa said
01:21in an interview with WWJ Detroit.
01:24The bombing is one of a long line of incidents
01:28that's happened the last three years
01:30concerning violence in 299 officials.
01:33There have been rumors that there is an individual
01:36who is doing this bombing.
01:38His name I will not talk about
01:40since he's not been arrested.
01:42But he was a mental incompetent, a drunk.
01:46And I know that the FBI has been around
01:49asking questions concerning that individual.
01:51Whether or not they decide he's the one or not
01:54will be their determination, not mine.
01:56But almost everybody in the local union
02:00has that man's name on the tip of their tongue
02:02when they think about violence.
02:04Are you absolutely certain
02:05that no one within 299
02:08had anything to do with that car bombing?
02:10I bet my life on it.
02:12That was James Hoffa two weeks ago
02:14in an interview.
