00:33and like why you guys landed on that.
00:35Given this song by our friend Lauren Keane,
00:37who's an incredible writer, an incredible friend,
00:39it really started the journey of making the album.
00:42Like, when we heard the song and heard the title,
00:44we were like, this is so, like, conceptual and interesting.
00:48There's so much we could write about under it.
00:50So we just ran with it, and I'm glad we did.

00:53And I mean, have you guys had some emotional moments
00:55as girls in the club before?
00:56Of course.

00:59Whatever you might imagine, we've heard it.

01:02Even when we initially got the song,
01:04it didn't stick out as an album title.
01:08But then, as we were sitting on it, the song.

01:17and we were going to after parties,
01:19and we were in our clubbing era,
01:21then it became more like...

01:31You're also stepping out into a new era in general.

01:34So how does it feel like it's differentiating
01:36from the first era?
01:37It definitely feels more grown.
01:39Like, we have grown up.
01:41We've been heavily involved,
01:42even though we were heavily involved in AAA.
01:44We did everything on this album,
01:47and we immersed ourselves into it.
01:48We wanted to research.
01:50We were clubbing.
01:52We were coming up with stories.
01:55The clubbing was a market research.

01:56Yes, it was the research.
01:57You know, just figuring out things that needed healing,
02:00and figuring out what we wanted to talk about.
02:02So it feels really honest and real.
02:06More personal.

02:07And I like that you mentioned that you guys
02:08were more involved in the creative process,
02:10and you kind of, like, I've heard,
02:11stood up for yourselves in a lot of ways.

02:13So what was that like in the studio
02:14to come in and kind of, like, make that stand?
02:16It felt really good.
02:17I think that it comes to a point where
02:20you just have to, like, rip the bandaid off.
02:22And, like, some things can feel, like,
02:25confrontational or, like, uncomfortable,
02:27but, like, it's, we're all in the room
02:29to make a great song.
02:31Yeah.
02:31So I think we just, we just started doing it,
02:34and it feels good to just say how you feel
02:36and say you don't like that, you want to try that.

02:38We're in a much better place creatively
02:40after doing that with this album.
02:41And I feel like a lot of fans online
02:43try to be, like, they're in the record label too,
02:45you know?
02:45Like, they're so involved trying to, like, create.
02:46Some of them know exactly what they're talking about.

02:49But I think it's interesting
02:50that they don't really know a lot
02:51of what's happening behind the scenes.
02:52So what is something that you did learn
02:54from, like, that first era that you would share
02:56as, like, this was a learning experience for me
02:58when I knew, like, no, I don't like it like this.

03:01I think just feeling comfortable
03:03to say that you don't like something.

03:05And, like, it's okay, because it's our art.
03:07And you've said this era feels bigger too.
03:09So how does that apply to the music?
03:11The music, I would say, is more in your face.
03:14Like, we're not being shy about the sound
03:17or, like, the vocal moments.
03:21Like, it's just more in your face.
03:23It's a lot more fun.
03:24And I feel like we've made records.

03:35not being shy about the vocals.

03:37Because I will say that's something, you know,
03:39internet record labels like to debate about.
03:41About, like, oh, my God, like, they feel like
03:43lately people don't want to sing a lot on records.

03:48But some people are desperate to hear vocals.
03:50So, like, how do you think about that in the studio?
03:52Do you think, like, oh, I should calm down a little bit here?
03:54Or I'm just going to let it go?
03:55I think it's always best to let it go
03:57and then peel back.
03:58And at the end of the day, we are a vocal group.
04:01So the vocals always need to deliver.
04:04Okay. What songs so far on the album do you say?
04:06I want everybody to tell me, like,
04:08it's giving you your best vocal moment.
04:10There's so many.
04:11I think Floating is a big standout vocally.
04:15She's going to be your moment live.

04:19So we were going to talk about touring aspects.

04:27How was it to be involved in the creative process?
04:30You guys were having so much fun in that.

04:36We knew that song had to have a big moment.

04:39Because we haven't really been 100% happy with all our videos.
04:43So we were like, this one we have to.
04:44Oh, you guys are picky.

04:47You want to make the video an accurate representation of the music.
04:50So if the music feels big, it's always kind of sad if the video doesn't match it.
04:54And when we were looking for directors for Leak It, we wanted somebody to come up with a concept that

05:02And Olivia really did that.
05:03She thought outside the box.
05:05She did.
05:05And even with Don't Break Her Heart, like I feel like you guys, again, have fun with the videos.
05:09And even throw a little acting chops in there.
05:11So like, did you.
05:13Whose idea was that?
05:14And how fun was it to kind of tap into that?
05:20We love to have a video with like a storyline.
05:24And the director that we worked with on Don't Break Her Heart also did In My Bag, which had a
05:29storyline.
05:30So it just felt kind of fitting.
05:32We were like, oh, here we go again.
05:34And yeah, like it's an opportunity for us to show that kind of side of us, which is funny.
05:41So silly.
05:42I wouldn't call it our funniest work, but you know, we tried.
05:47And yeah, and just have fun and step into a different character.
05:51Yeah, you guys did a good job of it.
05:53And I think people are also asking for more of that, having big music videos, like having a moment.
