No, Jason… the influencer in the InStyle office is just a coincidence. In this video, InStyle’s PowerPoint correspondent, Jason Saperstone, gives us the lowdown on the history of InStyle Magazine, including the push and pulls Editor-in-Chief Sally Holmes made to bring the iconic magazine from the 90s into the 21st century. One of the most iconic images in the elevator series is Snoop Dogg and Martha Stewart, of course.

00:00InStyle Magazine, welcome to your digital footprint.
00:02InStyle Magazine started in the 90s.
00:04I vividly remember seeing these magazines at like grocery store checkouts, you know?
00:08This is so nostalgic.
00:10Enter Sally.
00:11She took this magazine into the 21st century.
00:14Sally took the already iconic elevator series, which was a couple viral moments at an award show.
00:20Snoop Dogg hotboxing an elevator with Martha Stewart.
00:23That sentence would kill a pilgrim.
00:25That is just genuinely insane.
00:26And she made it a permanent fixture here at InStyle, which brought us It Girls, Olandria, and Alex Earle.
00:32I'm here, bitches.
00:34Sally took a simple elevator and turned it into a runway, and that is the fashion mindset.
00:38But Sally wasn't done collecting her favorite influencers and celebrities.
00:42She said, no, no, no, we're going to start The Intern.
00:44This series has taken on a life of its own.
00:47Guys, it's my first day.
00:49I think I'm going to be an amazing intern.
00:51I'm really pretty.
00:53I'm really funny.
00:54At this point, InStyle is just collecting as many influencers as possible.
00:58InStyle Magazine, you are a magazine, not the hype house.
01:01Do the InStyle editors just want to hang out with a bunch of influencers around the office?
01:05Is that why I'm here?
01:07Oh my god.
