00:00The ABS have just released inflation figures for June.
00:03We took a look at the food inflation impacting consumers at the moment.
00:07The good news for consumers on a month-to-month basis is that fish prices are down about 1.9
00:12%
00:13and vegetable prices eased by about 1.4%.
00:16However, there were some inflationary tendencies creeping in.
00:19Fruit prices lifted 3.7%.
00:21Across the dairy complex, prices rose from 0.6% to 1.4% for the month.
00:27But in the red meat and pork categories, prices were reasonably flat for the months.
00:33When you take a look at the annual figures though, red meat prices have been quite strong.
00:37Annually, beef's up 9.2% and lamb and goat are up 9%.
00:41So that's still pretty inflationary for the consumer in the red meat department.
00:45That's it for a food inflation update.
00:47We'll see you when you've got another one.
