00:00You love the exploration of female rage on both sides with Alice and with Catherine.
00:05What was it about that concept that really both drew, like drew both of you to exploring that and diving
00:11deep into that?
00:12I'm a comedy writer. I mean, I, you know, have before this show kind of mostly written comedy.
00:18And I think as somebody who writes comedy, I'm a very good deflector.
00:22You know, I like I think I use comedy sometimes to deflect from feeling feelings like anger.
00:28And so it was it was interesting writing this show because I had to get a little bit more comfortable
00:35with anger on the page, even like not even in real life, but like writing angry scenes and things.
00:43And that was like that was interesting and uncomfortable for me in a good way.
00:47But I don't I mean, I think there is a lot of rage in the show, but it's not the
00:52only it's not the only thing in this show.
00:56And I think that it's like if the answer was just let's all get angry together, it would wouldn't make
01:03for a good television.
01:04I think it's like it sort of explores the feeling of anger and then also explores, you know, how that
01:12it can trap you, how it can it can feel so good, but then ultimately not feel good.
01:18But in the end, you know, it's hopefully digging into the experience of being a victim and just how complicated
01:28that and messy that can be and lead to a lot of different roads that someone can go down.
01:33Yeah. Rage is an interesting thing because it can be certainly dangerous in society and is not helpful, certainly for
01:43Alice in her job.
01:45She needs to be very removed from that heat, but she has a lot of drive.
01:50But I think that she's really unaware of the level of her own rage and and yeah, and is really
02:01kind of starting to embrace and understand how it's governing her and leading her in a way that she's not
02:08aware of at first.
02:09And I think that rage probably gets a bad rep, but there's a lot of energy behind it and it
02:18can be a connector and it can galvanize a movement.
02:21And I think that the connection between these women and the kind of like invisible thread between them of, of
02:29sisterhood, how we realize that they're more similar than they are different is, is very kind of powerful.
02:34And in fact, Alice will start to wonder if the quest for vengeance that this killer is on is not,
02:40is not stirring something within her and the justice that she quietly seeks for herself.
