12:29One that might make us wonder if Vega has been sneaking some cosmic donuts behind our backs.

12:41there's no denying that Vega is still one of the brightest and most fascinating stars in our galaxy.
12:49But if you want something actually bright, then how about a supernova?
12:56Supernovas are giant space booms that occur when stars reach the end of their life cycle.

16:45But that one is a bit of a mouthful.
16:49But what's really bizarre about this star is its irregular dimming.
16:53For some reason, it doesn't glow like a normal star, but blinks.
16:57As if someone turned on and off a flashlight.
17:01And it's not just a little dip.
17:02We're talking up to a 22% drop in light.
17:06So it's not because it sometimes gets blocked by a planet or something.
17:12Scientists have come up with all sorts of explanations for this strange behavior.
