00:00The King has finally made a move.
00:02LeBron Watch, ladies and gentlemen, I'm proud to say it's over.
00:06He's headed to the city of brotherly love.
00:08The 22-time All-Star reportedly chose Philadelphia
00:12after an aggressive recruiting effort,
00:14and he will sign a reported two-year, $8 million deal.
00:19Now, as we all know, he left the Lakers this offseason,
00:22pretty much drug out free agency for the decision.
00:26In fact, the entire NBA has basically been put on pause
00:30while we waited for LeBron to pick a city or team,
00:34possibly the final city and team of his Hall of Fame career.
00:38Now, according to Sham Sharania, it came down to three real contenders.
00:42Cleveland, his hometown team, won a championship there.
00:46Miami won championships there, and now the Sixers.
00:50And now we're going to see if the King gets love in Philly.
00:53Philly has made some aggressive moves this offseason.
00:57They traded for Jalen Brown this summer,
00:59and that move alone reportedly got LeBron's attention.
01:04You add in Joel Embiid when he's healthy, Tyrese Maxey,
01:08and all of a sudden, a team that had no shot a month ago
01:11is a legitimate finalist.
01:14Bob Myers, the guy who built Golden State's dynasty,
01:17is now running basketball ops for Philly's ownership group
01:21and has been saying flat out that the Sixers give LeBron
01:24his best chance to win right now.
01:27That's a heavy statement from someone with that resume.
01:31Now you add in LeBron's resume,
01:33and the 76ers, just like that, became legit contenders.
01:38Remember, this is the franchise that Knicks fans
01:41have been laughing at for quite some time.
01:43They haven't even been to the NBA Finals since 2001.
01:47Haven't even been to a conference finals since then.
01:50But LeBron to Philly is an attempt to erase
01:53two decades of playoff heartbreak in one move.
