00:01Wolverhampton councillors have rejected plans to turn the former Shisha Point Lounge into
00:05a private function room. Applicant Sukjinder Singh proposed parties for around 50 people
00:11at the Sunbeam Street premises. A fire assessment rated the risk intolerable and advised against
00:17occupation until risks were reduced. It described the kitchen as an unacceptable fire risk.
00:23West Midlands Fire Service requested the removal of bamboo, artificial plants and combustible
00:28linings. Mr Singh agreed to reduce the proposed closing time from six o'clock to two o'clock in
00:33the morning. The licensing committee said the premises were unsuitable and more thought was
00:39needed on capacity and on opening hours.
