00:00President Trump says he's close to deciding whether to launch a, quote,
00:03massive attack on Iran, one he says could be bigger than anything the U.S. has carried out
00:07so far. The warning comes as the Pentagon surges special operations forces, fighter jets,
00:13a long-range B-1 bomber and more than 150 combat medics into the region following the deaths of
00:18four American service members. Now, Trump says Iran has not, quote, taken enough pain yet to
00:25agree to peace, while Secretary of State Marco Rubio says the administration's response will
00:29go far beyond simple retaliation. I saw Arachi, their foreign minister, who the other day say
00:36something about their policy is an eye for an eye. The president's policy is a head for an eye.
00:41I mean, honestly, that's what it's going to be. I mean, they will pay a very heavy price.
00:45The conflict is also expanding. Iran-backed Houthi rebels claimed attacks on two tankers in the Red
00:50Sea, raising fears that a second major global shipping route could be disrupted. President
00:55Trump warned that Iran will be held responsible for any further Houthi attacks and threatened
00:59major military punishment against both Tehran and its proxy. The growing threat to global energy
01:04supplies also sent oil prices surging above $100 a barrel for the first time since May,
01:09with analysts warning that they could climb even higher if the conflict continues.
01:12And based on the rhetoric coming out of Washington and Iran's refusal to back down,
01:16that is exactly what looks like will play out.
01:20Tonight, the White House Correspondents Dinner gets a second chance. The annual event was originally
01:24scheduled for April, but was cut short due to an assassination attempt. Authorities say Cole
01:29Thomas Allen stormed a Secret Service checkpoint with two guns and four knives, allegedly intending to
01:34kill President Trump and members of his cabinet. As the dinner returns with tightened security,
01:38the Secret Service says safety concerns have gotten worse, not better. Director Sean Curran revealed that
01:44the agency has already opened about 10,000 threat investigations this year alone, a sharp increase from the
01:50same period last year. He called the current threat environment, quote, as large as I've ever seen it.
01:56Curran says most threats begin online and everyone is treated as credible until investigators can
02:01determine otherwise. That comes as the Secret Service is also dealing with an internal security
02:06issue. An agent who's assigned to Vice President J.D. Vance's protective detail has been placed on
02:10administrative leave, while the agency investigates allegations that sensitive information about
02:14Vance's travel plans were leaked to the media. The Secret Service says any conduct that could
02:19compromise the safety of a protectee will not be tolerated. A New Jersey family is grieving a
02:25devastating loss following a fatal boating accident at the Jersey Shore. Nine-year-old Maya Golubek and
02:30her seven-year-old brother Sigmund, who the family called Siggy, were both killed after the boat they were
02:35riding on with their grandparents struck a channel marker in South Jersey's Barnegat Bay Sunday night.
02:40Authorities say the children were thrown into the water when the 30-foot boat hit the marker.
02:44Their grandparents pulled them from the bay, but despite desperate, life-saving efforts,
02:49both children died. Their obituaries described them as best friends who shared an unbreakable bond.
02:54Maya was remembered as a sweet, fun-loving girl who shined in everything she did, while Siggy was
02:59described as a shy but adventurous little boy with a big imagination. Officials say the channel
03:03marker was working properly at the time of the crash, and the investigation into what caused the
03:07boat to hit it remains ongoing. For more on these stories and everything else you could possibly want
