00:25So here in Miralco, we actually test the appliances in order to check yung cost to operate ng mga different
00:30appliances natin.
00:31And since 2015, we've already tested around 2,000 appliances.
00:35Like this TV. So nakikita natin dito iba't-ibang technology tulad nitong LED TV, meron din tayong CRT, and then
00:42yung plasma.
00:43As you can see, as the technology improves, yung energy efficiency natin tumataas din.
00:47Kaya yung consumption ng isang 43 inches na LED is around 81 centavos lang.
00:52Compared dun sa ating plasma na 2 pesos, and dun sa ating CRT na 74 centavos man siya, mas maliit
00:59naman by half yung kanyang size.
01:02So dito, meron din tayong example ng ating power meter.
01:06So itong power meter natin yung ginagamit natin para ma-identify magkano ba talaga yung consumption ng bawat appliances on
01:12different stages.
01:13Sa ganitong paraan, malalaman natin saang part ng process or nung paggamit ng appliance tayo pwede makatipid.
01:19Based sa study natin, before ang mga customers nakatingin lang actually sa mga brand or mga surprise ng ating unit.
01:26Pero now, lalo na sa panahon natin, mas tumitingin na ang customer dun sa magkano ba yung magagasas niya on
01:33a monthly basis or yung ito yung ginagamit natin yung appliance.
01:37Next, we also have here yung ating energy saving devices.
01:42So nag-test actually tayo ng different brands, different models ng mga energy saving device or ESDs.
01:48And according din kay DOE, wala pa rin pumapasa sa testing nila to be called as energy saving device.
01:54Kasi, based dun sa study namin, ang ginagawa na itong mga devices na ito is actually power factor corrector or
02:00nag-i-improve ng ating power factor.
02:03Ang nangyayari, yung ating current ay bumababa kapag sinaksak natin itong energy saving device and then yung power factor naman
02:10tumataas.
02:11So nagka-cancel out lang siya and yung ating kilowatt-hour consumption or yung real power na na-consume natin
02:16is the same.
02:17Lalo na sa ating mga residential customers, binibilan tayo gamit yung kilowatt-hour or yung total energy consume.
02:23Hindi doon sa, hindi included yung power factor.
02:27Kaya, yung mga ganitong devices, hindi actually siya effective especially for residential customers.
02:32So we actually test different appliances din like air fryer, microwave oven, even yung mga bread maker and multi-cooker.
02:40And then, ito, isa sa pinaka-common appliance, mapa-low, mid-high, meron tayong electric fan.
02:45Sa electric fan naman, meron tayong AC fan and DC fan.
02:49Based on study namin, you can actually really save yung up to 50% kapag gumamit tayo ng mga DC
02:54fan.
02:55Yung DC fan kasi, gumagamit siya ng DC motors na mas matipid yung consumption kumpara sa mga traditional natin ng
03:01AC fan.
03:02Yung doon naman sa cost niya, mas mahal man ng konti si DC fan during initial investment or pag bumili
03:08tayo,
03:09mababayo mo naman siya in less than a year.
03:11Kasi, yung matitipid mo kapag gumamit niya ng DC fan is around P195 pesos for a standard na 16-inch
03:17na stand fan.
03:19Isa pang example natin, itong ating refrigerators.
03:22So dito, meron tayong pang inverter and conventional.
03:25Based sa study namin, yung conventional refrigerator at ng 7 cubic feet,
03:30nagkoconsume siya ng around P20 pesos per day.
03:32While yung ating inverter naman, nasa P12 pesos lang.
03:36So, different cases sa mga different brands din, you can actually save around 40-60% kapag gumamit tayo ng
03:42inverter na unit.
03:43Based din sa study namin, yung frequent na pagbukas ng refrigerator can actually increase your consumption by around 5%.
03:51So, similar with refrigerator, isa pa sa important na appliance na tinatest natin is yung mga aircon.
03:57So, nakatest tayo ng window type, split type, and then yung mga conventional and inverter aircons.
04:02And based sa testing namin, similar with the refrigerator, mas matipid siya around 40-60% kapag gumamit tayo ng
04:08mga inverter units.
04:10Isa pa sa naging findings namin din sa Meralco Power Lab, kapag yung mga aircon natin is hindi natin nalilinis,
04:15it can actually increase your consumption by around P95 pesos.
04:18So, huwag galiin natin na regular, nililinis natin yung indoor air filter ng ating mga aircon.
04:23Bukod sa mas matipid siya sa consumption, mapapaprolong din natin yung lifespan ng mga appliance.
04:29Another tip na pwede natin ma-share sa paggamit naman ng aircon is yung proper thermostat setting.
04:34Kung ang usual mo na ginagamit is around 18 degrees or yung maximum setting ng ating mga air conditioning unit,
04:39makakatipid ka actually na malaki kung ibababa mo siya sa 25 degrees settings.
04:44Based on pag-aaral namin, yung 1 HP natin, kung nagkoconsume siya ng around 800 pesos,
04:49pwede siyang magkonsume ng up to 2,300 kung imamax mo yung setting.
04:53Kaya importante, nairatingin lang natin siya sa comfort cooling which is 25 degrees Celsius.
05:00So here we have an example of a hybrid solar PV system.
05:04So gumagamit tayo ng hybrid inverter na bukod sa power na nanggagaling kimeral ko sa grid,
05:08pwede ka rin mag-store at kumuha ng power galing naman sa ating battery energy storage system.
05:13So dito sa example natin, kung meron kang galing power at naka-netmeter ka,
05:17at meron ka pang excess power during the day, i-store naman yan sa ating battery.
05:21Para during night time, aside sa credits mo from the netmetering,
05:25you can actually utilize yung na-store natin na power.
