00:01Hi, everyone. I'm Daniel Sobys, one of the commentators here at BE Sports USA, and this season I'll have the
00:08pleasure of bringing you all the action from the PKO Polish Extra Klasa.
00:14And before you ask yourself, why should I watch the Polish League and Polish Extra Klasa, give me the next
00:20five minutes and I'll think you will have the answer.
00:23The action begins on 24th of July on BE Sports, of course, and if you have never watched the Polish
00:29football, trust me, this is the perfect moment to start and what a season to begin with.
00:36It's not just another campaign. It's 100th season of the Polish Football Championship and a historic milestone from one of
00:43Europe's oldest and most passionate football nations.
00:47Well, people often ask me, why should I watch the Extra Klasa? So, well, first of all, because it's one
00:54of the most unpredictable leagues in Europe.
00:57Every season, there are surprises, young players breaking through, traditional power comes back, and every weekend feels like anything can
01:07happen.
01:07But it's not only about the football, it's also about the atmosphere. Polish stadiums are absolutely incredible.
01:14The fans create an environment that reminds you something like South America or maybe something like the Balkans.
01:22Every match means something for them.
01:25So let's start a title race. Defending champions, Lech Poznań, back to back, just remember that, will once again be
01:32one of the favorites.
01:33They have a continuity, quality and made of the biggest transfer in club history, signing Luis Palma permanently from Celtic
01:42Glasgow.
01:43But there is also Legia Warsaw. Begins the new era under Marek Papshun, well-known manager, coach from Raków Częstochowa.
01:51Last season, a slow start caused them the title and play in European competition.
01:56And this year, they simply can't afford to repeat this mistake. Expectations at Poland, the biggest clubs are always absolutely
02:05enormous.
02:07Raków Częstochowa also start a new chapter with the young coach, David Krocek. Raków Częstochowa,
02:13as one of the best runs clubs in this country and will be fascinating to see how the new coach
02:19builds the new success.
02:21And one club I'm especially curious about is Vitev Łódź. With the new sporting directors and people responsible for a
02:31sporting structure like Łukasz Masłowski,
02:33ex-obviously sporting director of Jagiellonia Brestock, and Artur Płatek, who's got the experience in Borussia Dortmund, let's say, Vitev
02:41is rebuilding the squad and aiming much higher than the previous season.
02:45They have one of the biggest fan bases in Poland and many believe they are ready to fight near the
02:52top of the table.
02:54Of course, this season also marks return of two sleeping giants.
02:59Vista Kraków and Schloss Grotław are back in extra klasa, finally bringing two historic clubs and passionate fan bases back
03:08to the top division.
03:09And don't forget about the one club. Just remember the name. Vietzista Kraków.
03:15There are newcomers everyone is talking about. Baked by ambitious owners, they are investing heavily in signing experienced players like
03:26Antonio Milić from Lech Poznan, who was a Polish champion last season.
03:31Think of them as one of the European football most fascinating new projects, something like a Como in Italy or
03:39Wrexham in England.
03:41There is also the other club that I would like to mention. Pogo in Szczecin begins a new era under
03:47Oskar Garcia,
03:48the former Barcelona player and the Barcelona coach in the youth teams and the last time he's been in Ajax
03:55Amsterdam.
03:56Now, meanwhile, Jagiellonia-Biołystok, last couple of seasons, a very strong team in Poland, faces a big challenge because after
04:04losing sporting director Łukasz Masłowski,
04:07several key players like Afimiko Pululu, the best goal scorer in Jagiellonia, also Bartosz Mazurek, one of the most talented
04:14players in Poland.
04:16It will be interesting to see how quickly they can rebuild.
04:20Now, let's talk about some players you absolutely have to watch. One of those is Peter Federico,
04:28the ex-player of Real Madrid, Getafe Valencia and the last time he's been in Real Valladolid.
04:34He made his first team debut for Real Madrid under Carlo Ancelotti a couple of years ago.
04:41So, he's a player like people coming on the stadium to watch him. Quick, great dribbling, pace, fantastic technical ability.
04:50So, just to remember the name, Peter Federico.
04:53The other player I would like to mention is Karoj Fiderski, a Polish international.
04:58He returned home, joined Wiedzef Łódź after playing abroad a couple of years also in the Charlotte in MLS,
05:04the last time he played for Panathinaikos.
05:07So, it's going to be really interesting how he finds out in Polish environment.
05:14Luis Palma, of course, this is a player that I mentioned before, arriving permanently from Celtic Glasgow to Lech Poznań.
05:22He's a record transfer. He's expecting to be one of the league's biggest attractions and I'm sure he will be.
05:28Another fascinating story, and I'm really personally looking forward to watching him, is Kacper Urbanski.
05:36One of Poland's brightest young talents hoping to launch his new career, new stage in Górnik Zabrze after not a
05:46very good season in Legia Warsaw.
05:48Of course, there's the other few interesting transfers like Patrick Hellebrand, one of the biggest surprises transfer from Górnik Zabrze
05:56to Corona Kielce.
05:57Bartosz Bereszyński after a couple of years in Italy, in Serie A, coming back to Motor Lublin.
06:04So, what should you expect from this season?
06:08History clubs come back, big names are right, young stars are ready to shine and the title race is completely,
06:16completely open.
06:17So, if you love discovering new leagues before everyone else, just the PKO Polish Extra Klasa should define the one
06:26-on-one watchlist.
06:28The new season starts, just remember the date, 24th of July, exclusively on BeansportsUSA.
06:34Enjoy the season and you will see on the broadcast soon.
