00:22RM is opening up like never before. During his appearance on Bella Freud's Fashion Neurosis podcast, the BTS leader reflected
00:29on love, leadership, and the fashion moments that have had the biggest impact on his life.
00:34In the hour-long conversation, RM spoke candidly about what he's looking for in a partner, saying he's drawn to
00:41people who embrace contradictions.
00:43He shared that he could fall in love with someone who's, quote, very, very serious, but also very, very ridiculous
00:49at the same time.
00:50For RM, that kind of duality would make for endless conversations, whether they're discussing politics and social issues, or simply
00:57debating which beer is better.
00:59The rapper also reflected on his role as BTS's leader, admitting that the responsibility was overwhelming in the group's early
01:06years.
01:06RM explained that because he was the first member to join the group, he felt pressured to bring together seven
01:12artists with different backgrounds, personalities, and dreams.
01:15He described himself as a much more bossy leader during BTS's first eight or nine years, but said that approach
01:22changed as the members grew into global stars with their own identities and careers.
01:27Now, he sees leadership much differently. Using a simple analogy, RM said a leader is the person willing to get
01:34up from the couch to close the window when everyone else is comfortable staying put.
01:39In his view, leadership isn't about being in charge. It's about doing the small, necessary things for the good of
01:45the team.
01:45The conversation also explored RM's love of fashion and art, including his experience with what's known as Stendhal syndrome, the
01:53overwhelming emotional reaction some people have when encountering powerful works of art.
01:58RM recalled first walking into a Rick Owens store in Seoul around 2014 or 2015, when he couldn't afford any
02:06of the designer's pieces.
02:07Even so, he said the dark aesthetic, dramatic silhouettes, and different shades of black left him stunned, calling it his
02:14version of experiencing Stendhal syndrome through fashion.

02:24Owens' work and philosophy today.
