00:00Quick reminder to our viewers, we'll be watching tonight's presidential address and listening to what the president says tonight, but

00:05we're not going to take it live as we've been discussing. That's because this president sadly has a history of

00:10misleading and in some cases simply false statements on what we've been talking about tonight, election security and integrity. Also,

00:16the White House earlier today said he would be showing newly classified documents. So we want to make sure that

00:21we have time to review those documents, talk to experts about them, contextualize whatever he says or shows before airing

00:28it. But if there is news, we will bring it to you.

00:30A.S.A. Quick reminder to our viewers.

01:00They will censor it however they would like and give us bits and pieces that they think we should be

01:06able to see, which is also quite crazy because they never did that with anybody else. But we'll get into

01:11that here in a second.

01:15I want to play a couple of more clips and then we're going to get into the meat and potatoes

01:20of this all, which is CNN and BS Now attempting once again to try to put their thumbs on the

01:28scales.

01:29I don't think it's going to work. We're past that point. I think we've proven that it doesn't work. As

01:34a matter of fact, them doing stuff like this only, I think, pushes people more towards Trump.

01:41So I'm not even really angry about it, but I want to talk about it. But I got a couple

01:44of clips I want to show you first. Check it out.

01:46The president of the United States has made extraordinary allegations about election security and released declassified intelligence to support them.

01:55The coming days won't require louder opinions. They'll require an honest examination of the evidence.

02:01This isn't a new conversation.

02:04A quote widely attributed to the former Soviet Union leader, Joseph Stalin, warns,

02:09It's not the people who vote the count. It's the people who count the votes.

02:14If Stalin's assertion is true, then the integrity of the count matters even more.

02:20The answer is transparency.

02:23The more transparent an election is, the fewer opportunities there are for manipulation.

02:28Election integrity should never depend on who wins.

02:32It should depend on whether the process withstand scrutiny.

02:37Well, I tell you what, it helps in Ohio that we got Democrats in charge of the machines.

02:52But look, I come from Chicago, so I want to be honest.

02:58It's not as if it's just Republicans who have monkeyed around with elections in the past.

03:03Sometimes Democrats have to, you know, whenever people are in power, they're, you know, they have this tendency to try

03:10to, you know, tilt things in their direction.

03:14So you heard that there. All right.

03:17And what's also interesting, a network like NBC also aired this clip a while ago.

03:25Check it out.

03:25That you could certainly do within six minutes behind a curtain, much less if you had extra time because any

03:32of these were connected to the web, as we discovered a couple of days before, so many of them are.

03:37So at the end of the event, Voting Village issues a report.

03:40And so we'll be expecting one from them.

03:42And they're very transparent about it.

03:43I mean, the spirit of this event was transparency, trying to get these vulnerabilities out into the world so that

03:49I guess the idea is that the companies will be forced to correct them in some ways.

03:53The front of each machine was a little post-it that showed off what had been found out by the

03:58various hackers.

03:58So at one point, you know, the admin password was just sitting there on there because it turns out that

04:03the same admin password applies to multiple machines across the room.

04:08And those machines were created in the 2000s, which means that they were in fact created so you can't change

04:13that admin password.

04:14They're just locked for all time in that way.

04:17There does not seem to be any political momentum on some of the bills that are under consideration right now

04:22around trying to keep these machines off the Internet or trying to establish some sort of certifiable ballot, paper ballot

04:30system or any of the other things that have been proposed.

04:32And so the combination of seeing the incredible vulnerabilities that we saw on display in real time at this event

04:39and the lack of institutional action around the security of the vote, all of that made for an extremely alarming

04:48weekend.

04:50Yeah.

04:52NBC aired that at how vulnerable our election systems actually are.

04:58They aired that themselves, but yesterday they didn't want to air Trump's speech.

05:06Interesting.

05:08Now let's move on to the meat and potatoes of this, which is CNN.

05:12All right.

05:14Check out what good old Caitlin Collins had to say.

05:20As evidence of fraud has been buried, hundreds of thousands of non-citizens and dead people are listed and active.

05:30And yet we still have elections with no voter ID, no proof of citizenship and tens of millions of ballots

05:38floating aimlessly through the mail.

05:41As one example of the insanity, California's recent election for mayor of L.A.

05:46and governor was held on June 2nd, a long time ago, but it was just completed a few days ago

05:55on July 10th.

05:56Think of that much more than one month.

05:59Took a month to count the votes.

06:01I wonder what they were doing.

06:02This is worse than any third world country.

06:06There's no third world country that has elections like we have.

06:11That's because officials would say that U.S. elections are a lot stronger than third world country elections.

06:17And it's important to note, as you were listening to the president and his arguments tonight, that really all of

06:22this is-

06:22I'm not buying that nonsense.

06:24And, you know, so it's stronger, so it takes longer.

06:29How does that make any type of sense?

06:30And why is Florida able to count their votes in a day, but it takes California over a month?

06:42Same country.

06:44Same tools available to them.

06:47But one takes over a month and the other one is in a day?

06:52Same day?

06:56You're not going to convince me of the BS.

06:59Oh, well, we're just making sure.

07:01Like, no.

07:02So you're saying Florida's counts are wrong?

07:07You know, like this stuff is silly.

07:09We know the results of Florida the same day.

07:14In 2024, we knew which way Florida was going the exact same day.

07:21The same day.

07:23Why can't we get that result from California?

07:26They're cheating.

07:28It's simple.

07:29In the context of the president trying to push the Save America Act, as he calls it, the Save Act,

07:34as it's known, on Capitol Hill.

07:36Right now, it cannot pass on Capitol Hill because it doesn't have enough Republican votes in the Senate.

07:42And John Thune, who is the leader of Senate Republicans, has made clear they are not willing to get rid

07:46of the filibuster and don't have the votes to do so in order to lower the threshold of how many

07:50votes it needs to get passed.

07:52The president's entire argument tonight, as he was building up with these newly declassified documents from his officials, was about

07:59the Save Act in and of itself.

08:01Yet still, it's not clear and unlikely that that's going to change the minds of Senate Republicans.

08:07My colleague, John King, has been watching this speech.

08:09And, John, obviously, this is something the president has been pushing for with increasing fervor as we get closer to

08:15the midterms.

08:16What was your takeaway from tonight?

08:19A lot of ominous tone from the president, ominous words from the president.

08:23It sounded more like a spy novel.

08:24A familiar complaint to you, Caitlin, about the deep state.

08:28The most striking thing the president did was he focused mostly on China.

08:31And he said he was releasing all of these new documents tonight that were going to prove more things about

08:35China, he says, trying to get voter roll information, trying to learn about how to pry into voting machines and

08:42voting systems.

08:43He never directly connected any of that to changing an election result.

08:48That's important.

08:48I don't have the documents in front of me.

08:50We'll see if they get you there.

08:50But the president never did.

08:51The only time the president said anything about nefarious action, actually changing an election, was he said there are documents

08:58here showing how China helped the Maduro regime in Venezuela in 2020 change votes to stay in power.

09:05That is the only specific claim of actually rigging or changing an election result the president made.

09:10Much of it was, again, China's trying to do this.

09:14Russia did a little bit of that.

09:15But, again, focused mostly on China, about things we've known about, things that have been in past intelligence reports about

09:21China.

09:22Yes, trying to get information about U.S. voters.

09:24Yes, trying to test the vulnerabilities of U.S. election systems.

09:28But nowhere did the president in that speech connect it to they changed the result in this state or they

09:34changed the result in this precinct.

09:35There was no connecting the dots to that point in the speech.

09:38I don't have the documents in front of me.

09:40Our team is looking at that that way.

09:42But the tone of it was overwhelming.

09:43What was most striking to me, Caitlin, you covered the Trump White House at the time, was he had a

09:47boogeyman and it was the familiar deep state.

09:50The president saying that this was all kept from him, kept from John Ratcliffe, his then director of national intelligence,

09:56kept from Gina Haspel, his then CIA director.

09:58Marco Rubio, who's now the secretary of state, was the chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee at the time.

10:03He has access to just about everything in U.S. intelligence.

10:05But Trump was making the point that people working.

10:08I mean, they were trying to keep stuff from even Tulsi Gabbard, right?

10:12So, I wouldn't be surprised if there were folks trying to keep information away from certain people that they didn't

10:21like, like Trump.

10:22We saw that with Tulsi Gabbard, okay?

10:27Shout out to Tulsi Gabbard, too.

10:28Hopefully, her husband is doing much better now and going to recover from that diagnosis.

10:35But, you know what I find interesting is that, you know, all of these major networks who didn't want to

10:42air the speech had no problem when other folks got on their air and spewed about, you know, you know,

10:55hacking, election integrity, had the election stolen, blah, blah, blah.

11:00You know, the whole nine.

11:01They had no problem with it.

11:03Virginia just stopped using touchscreen computer voting because it's so vulnerable.

11:08We need to look at all the voting machines.

11:10Every secretary of state needs to be, you know, assisted in making sure that they are not being hacked and

11:16attacked.

11:17I continue to think that our...

11:18That was on BS now.

11:20But since Trump says it, they can't air it.

11:24But they aired that from Hillary Clinton, though.

11:26Voting machines are too vulnerable.

11:28The researchers have repeatedly demonstrated that ballot recording machines and other voting systems are susceptible to tempering.

11:34Even hackers with limited prior knowledge, tools, and resources are able to breach voting machines in a matter of minutes.

11:40In 2018, electronic voting machines in Georgia and Texas deleted votes for certain candidates or switch votes from one candidate

11:47to another.

11:48The biggest seller of voting machines is doing something that violates cybersecurity 101, directing that you install remote access software,

11:57which would make a machine like that, you know, a magnet for fraudsters and hackers.

12:01These voting machines can be hacked quite easily.

12:04You could easily hack into them.

12:06It makes it seem like all these states are doing different things.

12:10But in fact, three companies are controlling that.

12:12It is the individual voting machines that some pose that pose some of the greatest risk.

12:18There are a lot of states that are dealing with antiquated machines, right, which are vulnerable to being hacked.

12:24Workers were able to easily hack into...

12:26So y'all get the message, right?

12:28There's like a whole other 20 minutes of that.

12:30They have no problem airing when Democrats want to talk about election integrity and our machines being hacked and Russia

12:39possibly interfering or China interfering.

12:42But as soon as Trump says it, it's a problem.

12:45Even with Barack Obama in 2018.

12:48Posing up to Russia?

12:50What happened to the Republican Party?

12:56It's central organizing principle in foreign policy was the fight against communism.

13:05And now they're cozying up to the former head of the KGB, actively blocking legislation that would defend our elections

13:16from Russian attack.

13:17What happened?

13:17In the end, in the end, the threat to our democracy doesn't just come from Donald Trump or the current

13:25batch of Republicans in Congress or the Koch brothers and their lobbyists or too much compromise from Democrats or Russian

13:34hacking.

13:37The biggest threat to our democracy is indifference.

13:41Cosing up to Russia?

13:43What happened?

13:47So it's fine when they do it, but it's a problem if Trump says it.

13:52They even aired this speech.

13:53You guys remember this from Joe Biden?

13:57Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans represented extremism.

14:01The red background?

14:03The very foundations of our republic.

14:05MAGA Republicans have made their choice.

14:08No problem airing that speech.

14:11None.

14:13Whatsoever.

14:17No problem, you know.

14:19The country, no matter who it is, that interferes in American elections, will pay a price.

14:24They will pay a price.

14:26And it's been overwhelmingly clear this election.

14:29I won't even get into the last one.

14:30This election, that Russia has been involved.

14:33China has been involved to some degree.

14:34And now we learn that Iran is involved.

14:39They will pay a price if I'm...

14:41Oh, what do you know?

14:43So he said the same thing that Trump said.

14:45But since Trump said it, oh, he's a conspiracy theorist.

14:49There's no connection to China whatsoever.

14:52But when Joe Biden said it, there was nobody from BS Now or the Communist News Network that ran immediately

15:01to the air.

15:02There's no evidence of China interfering in the elections.

15:06But guess what they're doing today?

15:09That very same thing.

15:11Sprinting to the mics to get in front of a camera.

15:15Well, there's no credible evidence that China has interfered.

15:17But they didn't do the same thing when Joe Biden said it.

15:21And you know what else I find interesting?

15:24Because it's obvious that they're left-wing.

15:26Far left.

15:27It's all of mainstream media.

15:29Right?

15:30I would even argue that a lot of Fox is way too far left, in my humble opinion.

15:37But, you know, they say that they're unbiased.

15:43Right?

15:43That's what they all say.

15:45But when you take a look at a lot of these individuals who have been fired, like Joyless Reed, and

15:51they start their own show, Don Lemon, we're all day down.

15:56Left-wing hacks.

15:57Just like they were on air.

15:59But they get on air and tell us, oh, no, we're unbiased.

16:02We're just, we're completely unbiased.

16:04No, you're not.

16:04You're all Democrats.

16:06It's obvious.

16:06It's clear.

16:08If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it's probably a duck.

16:12You know?

16:13But anyway.

16:14I just wanted to talk about that with you all, because I'm just a little annoyed, you know, that they

16:20continue to try to lie to us as if we're some type of idiots or something.

16:23Like, we don't have two eyes and a brain to see and to think for ourselves.

16:28You know, they tell us that they're free and fair and all of this other nonsense, unbiased, and they don't

16:34want to air Trump's speech, but they had no problem airing all these Democrats, you know, saying literally the same

16:40thing.

16:41And I just played the clip from Joe Biden, and I just played the clip from Joe Biden, hey, China

16:44has interfered.

16:46It's the same thing Trump was saying, but since Trump said it, it's a conspiracy theory.

16:51We can't air it because Trump's pushing election integrity lies.

16:57Crazy.
