01:07Like in the slightest, I think that she, it kind of goes against every bone in her body.
01:14And she's someone who's been so deeply traumatized.
01:17Um, so an idea of perfection feels inauthentic and a bit false for her.
01:24And I think her perception of strength is within vulnerability.
01:28And it's within her owning who she is and what she feels.

03:53amazing similar sensibility of disruption.

04:50I think that what I was most excited about to explore with her was just her grit and her humor
04:59and her unapologeticness and her avoidance.
05:04And I think that all of those things combined are very unconventional traits for superheroes,
05:11especially women, you know, being a superhero or not.

05:17So that made me really excited to dive into the part.

05:23And talking about humor, I think that humor has become a defining pillar in projects associated with James Gunn.
05:30So in this vision of Supergirl, how do you guys approach comedy?
05:36What role does it play in shaping the character and the tone of this Supergirl version?
05:42That's a you question.

05:44Yeah, definitely.
05:45The tone is really always tricky.
05:48And I think in this case, very graciously, we would try things all the time.
05:53I mean, they'd throw lines out to...

05:55Every day, Craig would be like,

05:58I'd be like, what?
05:59What do you want?
06:00And they'd be like, here's some lines.

06:04And we would just try stuff.
06:06And sometimes it would work and sometimes it wouldn't work.

07:10So there would be that, that edge of like how she's fighting in the scene, like how close,
