00:01Nehemiah Turner. You might not know the name, but after this story, you'll love the kid.
00:05He's 11 years old. He lives in Florida.
00:08And he's our cup of joy today on the Andy Summer Show because he just reached a milestone.
00:14He officially surpassed 100 hours of reading to sheltered dogs.
00:21Oh, he reads to the dogs. Okay.
00:23The Jacksonville Humane Society honored young Nehemiah because for two years now, he's been going to the rescue, sitting outside
00:34the cages of these dogs and reading books to them.
00:37That's cute.
00:38One of his favorite dogs was Hopper, who he read to during every visit until the dog was adopted after
00:45nearly 400 days at the shelter.
00:48Wow.
00:49So, this honor from the Jacksonville Humane Society was marked with an incredible certificate marking his achievement.
00:58They write, Nehemiah's story perfectly embodies our core belief, the generosity that breeds joy.
01:05Oh, that's awesome.
01:07It's so incredible because, listen, there's so much that these dogs need when they're in these rescues.
01:14Obviously, we want them all to get adopted.
01:16We want to clear the shelters.
01:17Yeah, companionship, though.
01:18People come over and they walk the dogs, they hang out with the dogs, but for Nehemiah to take the
01:23time and get on their level and read a book, that's a good kid.
01:28Wow, 100 hours.
01:29I don't think I've even completed 10 hours.
01:32In your lifetime.
01:33In my life of reading.
