00:00Gender and sexuality are highlighted by your museum.
00:03The poster behind me shows an exhibit called Entertainment Nation on display now.
00:10Do you think these exhibits behind me are appropriate for children?
00:18So I recognize some of the images from Entertainment Nation and from, I think, some other sources.
00:29But let me, I think, tell you what I think is most important.
00:33Ma'am, I mean, you have pictures of bondage.
00:36You have some overtly sexual things up there.
00:42You have transgendered folks.
00:45I assume that's what they are.
00:48And some, I don't care who it is.
00:51I don't care who it is.
00:52It's still not a fan, I can tell you that.
00:56But in another exhibit, a six-year-old girl asked why she doesn't have male genitalia.
01:02Do you really think that content is appropriate for children?
01:06I mean, do you think little girls have penises?
01:09I mean, let's get to the basics of this.
01:11Do you think that's appropriate?
01:14So, sir, I believe the exhibition and project you're referring to is Girlhood, It's Complicated,
01:20which was a temporary exhibit in our museum that closed, I believe, in 2020.
01:25Ma'am, I didn't ask you that.
01:26I asked you, do you think, is it appropriate?
01:28So, in that exhibit, sir, with permission of the author, we shared a 13-year-old's diary,
01:36which I believe is what you're discussing.
01:38And in that diary, they wrote about sleepovers and Latin class and math exams.
01:43Ma'am, do you think that's appropriate?
01:45I appreciate this.
01:46We're limited on time, ma'am.
01:47Do you think that's appropriate?
01:48Do you think that is appropriate for a child to see?
01:51Yes or no?
01:51I understand your question, sir.
01:54No, you don't.
01:54You're not answering.
01:55You're just running on, ma'am.
01:57And I appreciate your hospitality.
01:58But the reality is you are not answering the questions.
02:01You are funded by taxpayers.
02:03And the taxpayers would like to know, is that appropriate?
02:06So, sir, Girlhood, It's Complicated was not designed for children.
02:10It had a label in the beginning of the exhibition that shared with parents about some of the topics that
02:18would be covered.
02:19And we do that with exhibitions that we think kind of need that help.
02:24So, parents then can come and look at objects.
02:28I understand you're not going to answer.
