00:04Welcome to The Cube, Euronews' fact-checking show.
00:06Have you seen this fake Euronews video that's been doing the rounds on social media?
00:11It claims that Ukraine's Anti-Corruption Bureau, or NABU,
00:15is investigating President Volodymyr Zelensky's parents
00:18over an illicit $11 million that appeared in their bank account in 2025.
00:24It uses the branding of Europe Today, Euronews' live morning show,
00:28to report on the supposed investigation,
00:31alleging that Zelensky's parents described the funds as a gift.
00:35However, not only is the video fake, but the whole story is too.
00:40Euronews did not produce this video, and if there were room for any doubt,
00:44you can tell that the voice narrating the report was AI-generated,
00:48and there's no trace of any such story on Euronews' website.
00:52The video also cites an article by the news outlet Ukrainska Pravda,
00:56which supposedly describes the alleged investigation.
00:59But this is also fake and can't be found anywhere online.
01:02Additionally, Ukraine's Center for Countering Disinformation
01:05has firmly denied the video's claims.
01:08It says that the story is completely fabricated
01:11and attributed it to the Russian Matryoshka disinformation campaign,
01:15which specializes in creating fake content under the guise of legitimate news outlets
01:19to try and give them a veneer of credibility.
01:22It's added that the campaign aims to undermine the trust of Ukraine's allies,
01:26who continue to support Kyiv in a targeted by pro-Russian propaganda
01:30amid Moscow's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
01:34And that's true.
01:35Here at The Cube, we've debunked various fake videos and articles
01:38spread by the Matryoshka campaign before.
01:41For example, a fake BBC report alleged that Zelensky
01:45had a stolen painting hanging in his office,
01:47while a series of deepfakes featuring Hollywood actors
01:50aimed to pressure Europe to accept a peace deal on Russia's terms.
