00:00The 11th International Forum for Victims of the Colombian Conflict was held in Panama,
00:05an event designed to gather civil society re-elections and proposals on peace.
00:10Representatives from 23 countries, which are hosting more than 5 million people displaced
00:14by the armed conflict in Colombia, gathered to address their situation.
00:18The main objective of the meeting was to gather proposals from civil society and to promote
00:23active citizens' participation in peace buildings.
00:26During this edition of the 11th Forum, attendees denounced setbacks in the victims' jurisdiction
00:32in the face of the inauguration of Avelar de las Pliegas' new administration.
00:42Another major obstacle that we victims will face is that the president-elect has said he
00:47wants to dismantle the Special Jurisdiction for Peace, which was created under the peace agreements
00:53between the now-defunct FAREP and the government of Juan Manuel Santos.
01:00This has allowed us, the victims of the Colombian Conflict, to learn the truth about what has happened,
01:05because we seek justice, truth, and guarantees of non-repetition.
