00:00The world of sports doesn't stop just because it's everyone else's weekend.
00:06Don't worry, H-Town, Clint, Ron, and T-Mill will get you up to speed.
00:11It's weekend's best and weekend's worst on The Drive.
00:20All right, it is Monday, a little weekend's best, weekend's worst.
00:25You can text yours in, 713-572-4610.
00:29And what was your weekend's best?
00:30What was your weekend's worst?
00:33YouTube and Twitch, you can jump in there, too.
00:35I see you, Cornbread Champ, Slice Joseph, old Ronald Howard in the building.
00:39Rob, as always, in the building.
00:41You can jump in.
00:42I see you, Joel, over there on Twitch.
00:44Jump in with your weekend's best, weekend's worst.
00:49Clint, what was your weekend's best as there was a lot going on throughout the weekend?
00:55Well, we watched it unfold yesterday.
00:57There was a lot to pick from, but mine we watched unfold yesterday.
01:01Ryan Fox, PGA Tour.
01:03He wins the Open, the British Open.
01:06And the fashion in which he did it, Ron, he coming down a stretch, he was tied with Cam Young.
01:13And my man needed a birdie on 18 to win the tournament, to avoid a playoff with Cam Young.
01:19He needed a birdie.
01:2118, on this particular course over the weekend, was playing as the hardest hole on the course.
01:28And he needed a birdie to get it done.
01:32I mean, he shoots a dart at the 18th pin from 175 yards.
01:38I don't know exactly what iron he was hitting.
01:42I'm guessing probably a pitching wedge from there.
01:46But he hits it to within 12 feet, inside 12 feet, just over 11-foot putt.
01:52And hits it to the part of the green that gives him a rather flat putt on PGA terms.
01:59And he knocks the putt down to win it.
02:03First-time winner, first-time major winner.
02:06And the best thing, it's not even the best thing, the best thing about Foxy that's kind of been brought
02:13to light through this is his pace of play.
02:17There's a video out there on social media that is absolutely beautiful.
02:22I watched it twice.
02:23I don't think that there is a, I don't think there's a clip of a swing.
02:27Now, it's not every swing, obviously.
02:29I don't think there's a clip of a swing, Ron, where he was over the ball more than eight seconds.
02:34Some of them are six.
02:35Some of them are seven.
02:36I mean, the pace of play is ridiculous with Ryan Fox.
02:42And so, cool to see somebody that's got a little unorthodox approach to the game win such a major tournament
02:49in the British Open.
02:51And he did it amongst some, I believe, the three guys that finished behind him were All-Americans.
02:56I think it was Young, Burns, and Sheffler, I believe.
03:02Congrats to him and the way he did it, man, coming down the wire right there and needing that birdie.
03:06A lot of guys would have played conservative just to get to the playoff hole.
03:12He said, no, I'm going to go aggressive.
03:13And he stuck it, man.
03:14That was beautiful to see.
03:15I got to be honest, man.
03:16I don't know, clearly you were, and maybe at the time, I just was not into the Open Championship this
03:22year.
03:24I'll be honest with you.
03:25I did not, like, I did not check in on it really at all.
03:31And it was weird because there wasn't a ton going on yesterday.
03:34Obviously, it's earlier, but look, I'm not going to sit here and act like I've never gotten up to check
03:39out the U.S. Open.
03:40I just don't, I mean, I'm sorry, the British Open, excuse me, I just don't, I just wasn't into it.
03:44It was on here, I think, on Thursday or Friday or maybe even both, and then I caught a little
03:48bit of it Saturday.
03:49I did not see yesterday coming down the wire, but I'll be honest with you.
03:52I'm not a, that Link style golf, even, I don't like playing it, and I'm not a real big fan
03:59of watching it either.
04:02Now, I understand the intrigue, I understand the challenge, and I get what it is.
04:08I just, the no trees, the unbelievable rough, you know, that just, it just doesn't fit my eye.
04:16And so, I wasn't really jonesing to watch it either, but it was, when I did sit down and watch
04:22it, it was a good run, man.
04:24Absolute drama at the end, definitely for that.
04:26But, all right, my weekend's best goes out to Caitlin Clark.
04:29Her name's been in the news a lot, one of the more polarizing players in sports right now.
04:36But she had a hell of a performance on Friday night, put together a historic career-high 45 points,
04:43and had 10 assists to lead the Indiana Fever in their, their, hell, they had gotten up big
04:51and then had to, had to come back and regain the lead over the Seattle Storm, 110 to 107.
04:57It's the first 40-10 game in WNBA history for somebody, as we said, to reward 40 points or 10
05:04assists.
05:05Also, she made history by knocking down her second three-pointer.
05:09She's the fastest player to, to, to make over 200 threes in 74 games.
05:15So, Caitlin Clark, big-time performance, it was, to me, like one of the first times, Clint,
05:20that she, she looked like the Iowa version of Caitlin Clark, where she just, a barrage of threes
05:27and step-backs and side-steps, where it's just like, damn, it's just nothing you could do.
05:32So, big-time performance from, from Caitlin Clark.
05:35What was your weekend's worst?
05:36My weekend's worst is Tom Brady.
05:38I mean, I get, I get the, you know, what wrestling and the traditional sports world are doing
05:48with the TV contracts and they're kind of meshing all that stuff together.
05:51This is huge for WWE.
05:53Yeah, look, and I think it's really cool that, that the, you know, some of the college players
05:58are getting opportunities.
05:59I think it only makes sense for some of these freakish, I mean, athletic, size-wise human beings
06:06to, to be, you know, potentially with already a huge following to, to, to be, to step right
06:11into WWE if and when they choose to.
06:16But Tom Brady's one of one, man.
06:18I mean, Tom Brady's the greatest to ever do.
06:22I mean, I wonder if this is a midlife crisis.
06:25I mean, he got a divorce.
06:26I mean, he went from talking about wanting to get out of football so he can spend more
06:28time with his family and his kid.
06:30Now, he's on TV every weekend.
06:31Chet's schedule ain't changed.
06:33I mean, now he wants to get into wrestling.
06:35He's always at the Fanatics event.
06:37I mean, look, he's a single man with, with the, the pick of the litter, do whatever the
06:40hell you want to do.
06:40But the, the wrestling thing since seems, seems to me a little bit below Tom Brady.
06:46This started, oh yes, this is, this definitely feels like Denzel Washington deciding to be
06:53the next cast member on BET's College Hill.
06:56Yes.
06:57Yes.
06:58Great call.
06:59This absolutely feels good.
06:59To be honest, where'd you hear that?
07:01I came up with that myself.
07:02That's good.
07:03That is really good.
07:05Oh man, that's good.
07:06But he's knee deep in it.
07:08It is, it is a, cause this started with, with, with, with, with, with a, what's his name?
07:16Oh God.
07:17Who is it that he slapped the hell out of?
07:19Jake Paul.
07:20Yeah.
07:20It was.
07:20Uh, yeah, I think it's Jake Paul or whatever.
07:23One of the Paul brothers.
07:25Logan Paul.
07:26Logan Paul.
07:26Yeah.
07:26Logan Paul.
07:27Yeah.
07:27Who's in a, I don't know why I see him every week.
07:29I watch WWE every week, uh, but he, he's a, he's absolutely in it and it started with
07:35him.
07:35I mean, he, he, he talked trash and said that he could, you know, he could, he could easily
07:40compete in, in WWE.
07:43Yeah.
07:43He could wrestle a match.
07:44It's, it's been going on between these two and now they've really sold it.
07:47So I, I, I, I'm going to be honest with you.
07:49It doesn't, it doesn't turn me on.
07:51I can't.
07:51I, yeah, I, I, yeah, I don't, I don't love it either.
07:54Yeah.
07:54I feel like he's, I feel like, I feel like this is, this is a, no disrespect at all.
08:03I just, I just feel like this would be a good move.
08:07I could see Cam doing this.
08:11I can see, I can see Winston doing this.
08:13Yeah.
08:14Yeah.
08:14But Cam can go walk out there in a damn banana hammock and fit in and in the, in the
08:19damn, in the damn WWE.
08:20I don't Tom angle.
08:22Tom better, Tom better be a long sleeve guy.
08:24Yeah.
08:24Gronk, Gronk is going to be.
08:25Gronk could be a good one.
08:26Gronk's been out there with him.
08:27Yeah, he's already been out there.
08:29That, I mean, from a quarterback perspective, the best I could think of is Cam.
08:33Because he, because he looks the part and he, and he can, he can stand like from a, from
08:38a, from a, who Tom?
08:40I don't know how.
08:40Hey, I'm telling you.
08:41Cause they, they told him he could wear his noble, noble shoes and shirts and shorts.
08:45And he's going.
08:46It's crazy.
08:47My weekend's worse real quick.
08:49I'm going to make an audible.
08:50Um, I, I, I had thought about talking about that, that nut, the modern day, but crazy
08:56version of Mike Allstott, Kim's, Kim's catapult banging out a backflip and he's, he's damn
09:01near short of the exact injury that tank Dale occurred.
09:04Uh, but I'm going to go somewhere else at that fanatics event.
09:09Trey young, Trey young.
09:12I don't know if you saw the video footage, Tyler, but Trey young, he walked out there
09:16and his move was to take a Jalen Brunson Jersey and rip it up and throw it on the ground.
09:23I did not see this.
09:25Now I'm going to have to find it though.
09:26Cause I'm already in truth.
09:27Well, you can tell how it's going to turn out.
09:29Think of his little narrow bad hair.
09:31Could not get it ripped.
09:33It started and then he couldn't, then it's like he lost his, he lost his, uh, scene.
09:36I blame this on, on, on many people.
09:38One, that's a bad look for him.
09:42And you can't, you can't not go through and be able to finish that off when you're trying
09:47to take a shot at the guy who just won the title.
09:49Well, second, I don't know.
09:51Do you all think that Hulk Hogan was just out there ripping the shirt without help?
09:55No, no, no.
09:56He was cutting hair.
09:57He was cutting.
09:58Oh, he made, he made, there's a, there's a cut to make it easier.
10:01Somebody should have cut the damn thing.
10:02I think, I think it did in the second.
10:04And that's all he had?
10:05I think he, he tore it.
10:06And when he re-gripped, he lost his tear.
10:09And he was in, then he grabbed this thing, like the shirt, the hole for his arm.
10:13And I was like, he, there's no way he's tearing that.
10:14I mean, come on, man.
10:15It just, and he slammed it down.
10:17And he looked like, God, he looked, he looked just like you think Trey Young would look
10:20trying to do something.
10:21Yes, he did.
10:21No, he balled it up and threw it in the, uh.
10:24Threw it down and walked off the stage.
10:25I mean, he'd been better off stopping and finding that seam and starting to cut it.
10:28He just laughed at his ass.
