Aareschlucht The Most Beautiful Gorge in Meiringen Switzerland 8K

he Aareschlucht is located near the town of Meiringen and is intersected by the river Aare. With its 1400 meters the gorge is not long but very beautiful. The Aareschlucht is almost 200 meters deep and barely more than a meter wide at its narrowest point. The water in the gorge has a beautiful blue color, especially when the sun shines on it.

The Aareschlucht gorge was made accessible to the public in 1888 by constructing a hiking trail and the gorge is now one of Switzerland's tourist attractions.
