00:05was foiled after a security guard acted quickly to secure 82,000 ringgit inside an armoured van
00:11before the suspect could seize the cash.
00:14Selangor Police Chief Commissioner Datuk Shazeli Kahar said the incident occurred at about 5.30pm on Monday
00:21as security personnel were transferring cash into the vehicle.
00:26A man wearing a dark jacket and a motorcycle helmet allegedly approached one of the guards
00:31and threatened him with what appeared to be a revolver.
00:34The guard immediately placed a bag containing 82,000 ringgit into the armoured van and shut the door,
00:42preventing the suspect from getting away with the money.
00:44Although the suspect failed to steal the cash, he fled with the guard's pump-action shotgun on a motorcycle.
00:50Shazeli said police are tracking down the suspect using CCTV footage from the bank
00:56and nearby premises, as well as dashboard camera recordings from vehicles in the area.
01:03Roadblocks have also been set up, while investigators are looking into all possible angles,
01:08including the possibility of insider involvement.
01:11Anyone with information is urged to contact the police or the nearest police station.
01:16The case is being investigated under sections 392 and 397 of the Penal Code for Robbery
01:25and robbery involving the use of a weapon.
