00:00Will Memphis Depay remain at Corinthians?
00:03That's the question on every Corinthians fan's mind.
00:05who are anxiously waiting to find out if their number 10 will remain at Corinthians or not.
00:11So, what do we have, really?
00:12The Corinthians board is working on three fronts.
00:14First, the player's desire to stay.
00:17This is an advantage, even for the board of directors.
00:19who believes that the player has this desire to stay at the club.
00:22The player himself said he's happy here.
00:26won titles, got to know the fans,
00:28He got to know Brazil, he lived in Brazil, and that's why he's happy here and would like to stay.
00:33The second aspect is the financial issue.
00:35For Mendes to stay, he needs to give up part of his salary.
00:39which are considered high for Corinthians.
00:41Finally, it's Corinthians' partnership with other companies.
00:44to make salary payments possible.
00:47Osmar Stable himself has already said,
00:49And Marcelo Passo himself has also said,
00:51Financially, Mendes' salary is very high.
00:54So, Corinthians needs to readjust.
00:56Adjust that salary with him and get those partners.
01:00so that the player can remain in the team.
01:03So, Mendes, in order to remain,
01:05He will need to adapt in these three stages.
01:08It's certain that Mendes should return to Brazil next Saturday.
01:12That's the expectation.
01:13And how does Corinthians play away from home against Bahia?
01:16this weekend,
01:17The board should meet with the attacking midfielder.
01:19Next Monday we'll talk.
01:22He's returning to work here at Corinthians.
01:24but not yet on the field.
01:26He initially shows up for meetings,
01:29to talk to the board,
01:30talk to Marcelo Passo,
01:31Why not talk to Fernando Diniz as well?
01:33to find out how things will be done from now on,
01:36since the player's contract only runs until the end of this month.
01:39There is nothing certain about Mendes staying on.
01:42Corinthians wants to keep the player.
01:45but it's clear to everyone internally,
01:47According to Puro Aquilance,
01:49that Mendes' salary is completely inadequate
01:51Corinthians would have to pay for it alone.
01:53So, that's why those three steps I mentioned...
01:56about Mendes lowering his salary a little.
01:58and also for partners to accept,
02:01to agree to this journey together with Corinthians
02:04in order to be able to pay Mendes' salary,
02:06In addition, of course, to the player's desire to stay.
02:09Meanwhile, the player uses social media.
02:12to make some comments,
02:13as I said, for example,
02:15open quotation marks,
02:18Mendes doesn't say anything directly to Corinthians.
02:22But they are posts on social media.
02:24that the fans end up picking up on some of the messages,
02:27There are some enigmas there regarding certain connections with Corinthians.
02:30Mendes also posted on social media.
02:32who is devastated after being eliminated from the World Cup.
02:35It is worth highlighting that the Mendes World Cup
02:38It was a little lower,
02:39because he had few opportunities
02:41to showcase football,
02:42so much so that in the match that marked the elimination of the Netherlands
02:45in the World Cup for Morocco,
02:47Mendes did not leave the substitutes' bench.
02:49He saw the Netherlands eliminated on penalties.
02:51Mendes, who is one of the official strikers for the Netherlands,
02:53perhaps the main striker,
02:55He watched the Netherlands' elimination from the bench.
02:57He was not called upon by coach Ronald Puno.
03:01who eventually ended up leaving the Dutch team.
03:03Right?
03:04So, basically, that's it.
03:05The story of Mendes continues,
03:07even though the contract is coming to an end,
03:09There is still no clear definition in sight.
03:12Corinthians is interested in remaining,
03:14Mendes has already said that he would like to stay.
03:16but some points are still in the crossbar,
03:18such as salaries and other issues involving the financial aspect.
03:23Mendes, who was important for Corinthians,
03:25in two titles,
03:26three titles, in fact,
03:28directly from two titles,
03:30contributing with goals in the final,
03:32like in the Copa do Brasil,
03:33against Palmeiras,
03:34also in the final of the Paulista Championship,
03:37It was important, it provided assistance.
03:39and also in the King's Super Cup,
03:41He was champion with Corinthians.
03:43So, Mendes has three titles.
03:45during that time, wearing the Corinthians jersey.
03:47He created a strong connection with the fans.
03:50He visited other places here in Brazil.
03:53So, in Brazil, Mendes created a very strong identification.
03:56And that's why he even talks about wanting to stay at the club.
03:59But he knows that the financial issue is still a stumbling block.
04:04and there is no decided outcome,
04:07There is nothing definite about Mendes staying at Corinthians.
04:11which is a contract that runs until the end of this month.
