U.S. stock futures advanced on Monday, as the Dow Jones, Nasdaq 100, and S&P 500 indices rose, following Friday’s lower close.

The U.S. military launched a ninth straight night of strikes against Iran to protect critical oil shipping routes, with CENTCOM stating, "The strikes will continue degrading Iranian military capabilities used to attack commercial vessels and civilian mariners transiting the Strait of Hormuz."

As the U.S. troop death toll reached 17, President Donald Trump signaled the operation will persist, noting, "Iran has been very, very badly damaged. They’ve lost everything almost militarily."

While limited economic data is scheduled to be released this week, investors are expecting earnings results from companies like Alphabet Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) (NASDAQ:GOOGL), Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ:TSLA), General Motors Co. (NYSE:GM), and Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (NASDAQ:AMD).

Meanwhile, the 10-year Treasury bond yielded 4.55%, and the two-year bond was at 4.18%. The CME Group’s FedWatch tool’s projections show markets pricing an 87.7% likelihood of the Federal Reserve leaving the current interest rates unchanged during July’s meeting.

The SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (NYSE: SPY) and Invesco QQQ Trust ETF (NASDAQ: QQQ), which track the S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100, respectively, were higher in premarket on Monday. The SPY was up 0.44% at $746.53, while the QQQ advanced by 0.497% to $702.04.
