00:23He said a special budget would help animal welfare groups provide food, shelter and other essential care for stray animals.
00:31Osman was speaking after a dialogue with government agencies, NGOs and stakeholders in the pet industry,
00:37where proposals to improve stray animal welfare were discussed.
00:41He said the rapid growth of the pet industry also required more ethical and responsible pet ownership
00:47to safeguard public health, safety and community harmony.
00:51The proposals raised during the dialogue will be compiled into a recommendation paper
00:56and submitted to the government for consideration.
