00:04masks? Every time you see them putting on or taking off their masks, it was all done with CGI.
00:09This is because if they wore real masks, their faces would look weird, the ears would stick out,
00:13and the masks wouldn't look as smooth on screen. That's why the actors only faked the movement,
00:16and the visual effects team added the masks in post-production. However, in the action scenes,
00:21the actors did use rigid structures called face shells, plastic molds designed to fit the head
00:25and maintain the shape of the mask. Even those, though, were most often replaced by CGI,
00:29with the exception of one scene.
