00:00Jacqueline, there's also another popular lettuce brand that people should probably avoid.
00:07That's right, Jake.
00:09We are hearing that shredded lettuce supplied by Taylor Farms and, like you said, sold at some Taco Bell restaurants
00:16has been linked to this outbreak.
00:18Now, the outbreak is centered in the Midwest, so it is a regional outbreak.
00:23And some of the Taco Bell locations that reportedly may have had this lettuce are located in Michigan, Ohio, West
00:31Virginia, and Kentucky.
00:33That's what we know so far.
00:35And across the country, separately, Jake, we know that several states have reported increases in cyclosporiasis illnesses.
00:43So this is something that health officials are keeping a close eye on, both regionally, like I said, and nationally,
00:50Jake.
00:50Nationally, we know that nearly 7,000 cases have been reported.
00:54Among them, in the state of Michigan alone, Michigan has reported more than 4,000 cases.
01:00So this is an ongoing situation.
01:02And, Jake, the reason why it has taken some time for health officials to really identify the source of this
01:09outbreak is because with cyclosporiasis, with this illness,
01:13it can take anywhere from two days to two weeks for people to develop symptoms.
01:18So that's why it's been kind of difficult to really pinpoint, okay, what has been the source of some of
01:25these illnesses?
01:26And right now, Jake, signs are all pointing to shredded lettuce.
01:30Like you said, some have been sold at Taco Bell, Jake.
