00:02Americans remain deeply pessimistic about the economy as high prices force more households to
00:07reduce spending, according to CNBC's latest All-America Economic Survey. The poll found 61%
00:14were pessimistic about current and future economic conditions, the highest level since December 2023.
00:21Higher prices have led 47% of Americans to cut spending on essentials such as food and medical
00:26care, up six percentage points since April. Two-thirds of Americans are cutting spending
00:31on non-essential purchases, while more are also reducing travel and relying on credit cards than
00:37in April. Trump's approval rating stood at 40%, while 60% disapproved of his handling of the economy
00:44and 68% disapproved of his handling of inflation and living costs. Half of voters said they were
00:50unlikely to support a democratic socialist candidate, while 52% said a presidential endorsement would
00:56make them unlikely to support a candidate. Self-described MAGA candidates faced the strongest
