00:14But what we're most concerned about is the breathing complications that can happen from
00:19breathing in this polluted air. Because basically one of the particles of wildfire smoke is fine
00:24particulate matter. So when you breathe this in, this can go into the lungs and cause inflammation
00:29and so for anyone with underlying health conditions like asthma, this increases the risk of an
00:34asthma exacerbation.
00:55If you do have to be outdoors, you want to wear a mask that's going to filter out as many
01:00air pollutants as possible.
01:01So this includes what we call an N95 mask. And the 95 basically means that it filters out about 95
01:08% of air pollutants.
01:10Cloth masks and surgical masks are not going to give you that same level of filtration.
