00:00The 24 hour endurance race was off to a good start, but as the night settled in
00:04there was a chaotic crash on the track. As the headlights spun and the sparks
00:09flew, it was difficult to follow what was happening on the track, but as the dust
00:13settled, it looked initially like BMW's chances of winning had been
00:21destroyed, but as the following day arrived and BMW repaired the damage,
00:25despite their car being 55 laps behind, they had come up with a
00:29controversial strategy to stay in the race, which some other racers weren't
00:33particularly happy with. The 48 car should be pulled from the race realistically if
00:37that's how they're going to use that car. See, Tommy Milner in the number four
00:40Corvette had started noticing a pattern. The broken number 48 BMW seemed to be
00:46inconveniently popping out of its pit stops again and again right in front of
00:50him. BMW appeared to be using their broken car as a mobile roadblock to slow
00:55down and potentially take out the leaders, allowing their sister car, the
00:59number one to get an advantage. The car was given penalties for blocking the other
01:03races, but BMW didn't seem to care and in the final hours of the race with Tommy's
01:08Corvette in the lead, BMW's dirty tactics became even more brazen. This time with
01:13Tommy boxed in by both the BMWs as he approached the turn, number 48 slammed on
01:18the brakes. He tried to dodge it, but he smashed into the side of the number one car
01:22and he took some serious damage. Some dirty tricks from BMW being played and it's
01:26resulted now in damage to that vet. This could be huge. Corvette were in trouble. The
01:31problem is he's got a parachute hanging out of the back of that Corvette. The team
01:34repaired it as best they could and they got the car back in the race, but with
01:3812 minutes left on the clock, Ford had now taken the lead with the number one
01:42BMW and both the Corvettes still hanging in there battling for podium spots. Now the
01:46BMW's having a nibble at the rear of the Corvette. The rivals went back and
01:50forth jostling for positions and slamming into each other on the fastest
01:54part of the track. The number three Corvette managed to pull out into second
01:58place and the number four Corvette caught up too. But with only 11 minutes left in
02:02the race and the number one BMW doing anything they could to ruin Corvette's
02:07chances of a podium finish, the Corvette team had had enough and so it was
02:11payback time. Nico Veroni who was now in the number four Corvette came wide into the
02:16corner. He tucked into the inside of the BMW and he gave the car a little kiss.
02:21Nico Veroni punts Kelvin van der Linde. The Corvettes drove away, Nico was given a
02:26time penalty for the sneaky move and Corvette's number three car went on to
02:30secure second place with BMW being dropped down to fourth. But there was only
02:34one true winner in all of the chaos. After that huge battle between the two
02:39Corvettes and the one BMW that's given Dennis Olsen the perfect advantage for four.
