00:00Georgina, do you genuinely, genuinely think that we hate women?
00:05I mean, I was thinking it.
00:10Virtual reality.
00:12I'm Evan Riel.
00:13I'm Rachel Meller.
00:14I'm Sam Nungesser.
00:16And we are recapping this not-so-wild finale of In the City.
00:21It kind of ended on a high note.
00:23Sunshine, rainbows, like, it was kind of like good energy.
00:26We did navigate some drama before we got to a very copacetic, simpatico ending,
00:33mainly revolving around this whole mom card, nanny card situation between Whitney and Lindsay.
00:39I'm sorry that you felt that way because, again, this wasn't my attention.
00:43Like, I appreciate you hearing me and, like, understanding, and I appreciate that.
00:48How do you think that played out?
00:51Who do you think won that war?
00:53I don't know.
00:54I thought the whole thing was a little silly.
00:56The room drama is very reminiscent of, like, old Roni, which I liked.
01:00I like a silly drama where there's low stakes.
01:03I think that, obviously, she likes single moms.
01:06Like, that's, like, not even a point to be had.
01:08Right.
01:09I do not think that Whitney is a single mom hater or a woman hater, for that matter.
01:14She likes moms.
01:15She likes women.
01:16It's fine.
01:16I think Georgina was just very heated because Georgina was part of the drama, too,
01:19because she was also allegedly pulling the mom card as well.
01:23Yeah.
01:23Because, you know, if the mom card was pulled for Georgina, Lindsay was the one who pulled it
01:28because she was like, no, me and Georgina, we are going to have the main suite because we're moms away
01:32from our babies.
01:32Which is valid.
01:33Yeah.
01:33I don't think them having a nanny, though, like, makes that irrelevant.
01:37Like, I think they could still want the room, be single moms, and have a nanny.
01:41Like, that point that she kept making, being like, oh, I like single moms, but they have a nanny.
01:45I'm like, well, you're kind of, like...
01:47Right, exactly.
01:48In a way, it's kind of, like, contradicting her point a little bit.
01:51I think that Whitney, though, for the most part, is well-intentioned for whatever reason.
01:57It's just she and Lindsay clash, and Kenny and Lindsay clash, even though they planned this trip together.
02:03But, y'all, they are clashing on social media, and I'm sure you guys have seen it.
02:06It's, like, so crazy.
02:07I know.
02:08They, like, hate each other.
02:09I don't get it.
02:10It's, like, so wild.
02:11I mean, Sam, do we think that there's hope for Kenny and Whitney to ever make amends with Lindsay,
02:17or are they just going to be, like, tense for the foreseeable future?
02:19Honestly, I kind of hope that there's...
02:22We always hope for resolve, but it is interesting because it's nice to see drama that isn't so dark in
02:29this world,
02:30and it is very kind of lighthearted drama.
02:32You saw Kenny kind of, like, I'm sorry for nothing, and Lindsay laughing about it.
02:36I'm actually also sorry for absolutely f***ing nothing.
02:41Oh, we know.
02:41We know that.
02:42So, like, that kind of thing, I think, is the kind of drama that I do like to see.
02:47Will they...
02:47I could always see that push and pull.
02:49I don't know if they'll ever be, like, besties.
02:52Completely.
02:53But who knows?
02:55They're going back and forth on socials.
02:57Lindsay's activated.
02:59Like, even after the reunion.
03:01Like, it's so crazy.
03:03Yeah, I think partially she wants to make a show, and, like, sometimes when I watch it in the city,
03:07I kind of feel like it's Lindsay and Kyle, like, teaching a class on reality TV.
03:11It's like, come on, guys.
03:12We're going to be, like, fighting about this now.
03:14They are the perfect professors to teach a master class in how to do reality television.
03:19I mean, really, this is kind of, like, the Lindsay show.
03:23Like, she is the central force of In the City, and I love that for her.
03:26I love that for us.
03:27I also love that she and Danielle finally got to a better place at Friendsgiving.
03:32The way that Danielle sort of opened that conversation, though, I was like,
03:36I feel like this is going to go left.
03:37Like, there's going to be no resolution.
03:39And then Lindsay dialed in and was like, let's resolve things.
03:42Like, she really came with peace, love, and joy for this reconciliation between herself and Danielle,
03:52which, I mean, their friendship stresses me the f*** out.
03:54Yeah.
03:54And so whenever they're getting along, I do feel more at peace in my own personal life.
04:00So it was nice to see that.
04:02Do we think it'll stick?
04:03It was in support of me, but it didn't feel, like, supportive to me.
04:08You know, like, I just, like, wish we could have just talked about it.
04:10Yeah, you're right.
04:11I'm sorry.
04:12I think they're always up and down, but I do.
04:15But in a way, I don't know.
04:18I don't know if it'll stick forever.
04:20I think that that's part of the name of the game in these kinds of shows.
04:23You know, you're best friends one day and you're not the next day.
04:26I hope it will, though, because them two together, like, nothing stronger than a Danielle and Lindsay friendship.
04:31They're a force, but I think they'll always have a deep friendship.
04:35And, like, I feel this way a lot where there's history there.
04:38Yeah.
04:38But, like, they maybe grew apart because they're very different and I can't actually see them being so close in
04:45everyday life anymore.
04:46But they have a mutual respect for each other.
04:48Yeah.
04:49I do wonder, though, now that Danielle's a mom, too, I wonder if that'll kind of bring them closer together
04:54as well.
04:55Yeah, maybe.
04:55Because they'll have kids, like, close-ish in age growing up.
04:58And also the way that, you know, Danielle's birthing process wasn't so easy.
05:03Her kid was in the NICU for a while.
05:04And I know that Lindsay reached out to her and they were able to touch base about that.
05:09So I think sometimes when those difficult situations arise, it puts things in a perspective.
05:14So hopefully it maybe brought them closer.
05:17Although I wish those circumstances were different.
05:19Although Danielle and her little baby, they seem to be doing well.
05:21Danielle, everything's good.
05:22I'm so happy for her.
05:23Everyone is having babies, which we were reminded of at the end of the episode.
05:27They did this kind of, like, six-month or this June update.
05:31So we got to see where everyone was in June.
05:33And, yeah, Yvonne, Lexi, and Danielle all joining the mom club.
05:39I don't know if they'll pull the card.
05:41Do you know what?
05:41I think that they should pull the card.
05:42I was raised by a single mom.
05:44And if she ever pulled that card, I'm so happy for her.
05:47Pull that card until the day you find that.
05:48It's not a card.
05:49That's the whole fight of it all.
05:50It's like this is actually just my life.
05:52So I should get the big act.
05:54No, exactly, exactly.
05:56And I do think that, you know, one day, like Georgina said, maybe Whitney will understand that.
06:01I think that the next step is a baby after they kind of got fake married in Peru.
06:05Yeah.
06:07I mean, that was kind of fun to see.
06:09I love the idea of, like, a spontaneous wedding you didn't know about.
06:12You know, it's like, oh, so that was a wedding.
06:15But he did say, like, in real life he does want to marry her, which I don't know.
06:18I kind of like them together.
06:20I just had Whitney on for virtual reality.
06:23And, like, she was honestly such a vibe in person.
06:25And she's so pretty.
06:27They're all so pretty.
06:28I love a pretty girl.
06:29She was so pretty and so sweet and so nice.
06:31And I will say when she spoke about Lindsay, she spoke about her, like, in a pretty respectful way.
06:35So it gives me hope for her future in this friendship group because I don't, it didn't seem like she
06:42was able to foster too many strong friendships during season one.
06:45But she told me that she's pretty close with Yvonne and she's pretty close with Lexi and Danielle.
06:49So all the new moms.
06:50So maybe she'll be next in line.
06:52I don't know.
06:53But I also do wonder, like, being so close with Yvonne, who is still very close with Lindsay and Georgina,
06:58and it doesn't seem like Lindsay and Georgina really love Whitney so much at the moment.
07:02Like, how does that impact the friendship, like, the Lindsay crossover of it all?
07:07I think it's perfect for season two.
07:09Yeah.
07:10There you go.
07:11Are we excited for season two of In the City?
07:13I am.
07:13I think I'll always like watching these people.
07:16I love Summer House.
07:17Like, big fan.
07:18So just having them on my TV is, like, fun for me.
07:20Will it be, like, a staple show in reality TV like Summer House was?
07:25I think that's, time will tell.
07:27Right.
07:27But because as a finale, this episode, like, didn't finale for me.
07:31So, like, season two has got to bring the drama.
07:33Yeah.
07:34And not artificially, like, contrived drama.
07:36Right.
07:36And I think they'll find their footing.
07:39I mean, they definitely brought that Summer House energy to the, like, final little tail end of this episode with
07:44Wes and Amanda and this pickup scene that felt a little, I don't know, like, awkward's not the right.
07:50Yeah.
07:50It's not the right word.
07:51Awkward.
07:52But I feel like there could have been more.
07:55Like, we could have added a bit more texture to the conversation because they were talking about the Wes and
08:00Amanda Escamanda of it all.
08:03And in that conversation, Kyle was sort of taking a ton of accountability for the ways that he sort of
08:07screwed up in their marriage, which, like, obviously we've seen that play out for eons now on Summer House.
08:12And so, good for him for taking accountability and understanding that, like, it wasn't all Amanda's fault.
08:18However, I feel like we spent a little bit too much time on Kyle apologizing and not enough time on
08:22Amanda explaining more of herself because so far she hasn't really done much of that.
08:28So, I still don't really know.
08:30Like, I just, I need to know more from Amanda, the why, the how, the this, the that.
08:34And then it just sort of ended with Kyle saying sorry and then, like, let's go on a double date
08:38with Sally and Wes.
08:40Like, what?
08:41No, like, like, and if you really think about it, Sally was with Wes.
08:44And now Kyle.
08:46Everybody's crossed over.
08:47It's so weird.
08:48It's a crossover of the century.
08:50I mean, I'm glad that they are at least in a place of just accepting how weird the **** it
08:56is and acting like it's normal.
08:58No, but it's, like, weird that she was like, let's go to dinner.
09:01And he's like, that'll start up the internet.
09:03Like, what world are we, are we being played?
09:05Do you want to go to dinner?
09:07It'll probably create quite the internet storm, but I'm happy to.
09:11Like, wait, are they just punking us?
09:13Is any of this real?
09:14Like, what's going on?
09:15Imagine Ashton Kutcher comes in to the next episode and he's like, you've been punked.
09:20No, I can imagine that happening.
09:22The way they, like, talk about the fans.
09:24Like, I know he was apprehensive to be like, and the fans.
09:27But I feel like it actually is a larger part of their brain than they let on.
09:31Yeah, totally.
09:31I mean, you know, obviously that was a breaking of the fourth wall, which I can appreciate most.
09:38Like, I like it when a fourth wall is broken.
09:39And I think that's really interesting.
09:41But in this instance, it was kind of like, what?
09:44Like, it's awkward.
09:46But I do think that the fans did play a big part in, like, leading Amanda to the getting out
09:53and getting away.
09:54So I kind of think you can't not address it.
09:57And I remember talking to her in the past and she's talked about, like, the fan and the fan opinion.
10:00And it's hard.
10:01And I think she's even said it on maybe, maybe on Summer House, too.
10:04But I just think that it's hard to, like, be this big and have so much conversation.
10:12And, you know, you're on the show and you don't.
10:14And have it not affect you.
10:16And then you have to kind of acknowledge what kind of brought you to that decision, too.
10:20Because I wonder, like, if people weren't telling her to leave him for so long, would she ever have done
10:25it?
10:26No, that's like your point.
10:26I didn't even think about that.
10:28But you're right.
10:28But she has mentioned in the past that it was the fans who really helped her come to that decision.
10:32And Sierra, I hope.
10:33Because remember, Amanda, how supportive Sierra was of you?
10:37That was so sweet to see on this past season of Summer House.
10:40Actually, I don't know if she clocked it.
10:41But, yeah, it seemed like she really cared a lot about what the fans thought.
10:44If she didn't give a shit about what Sierra thought.
10:46Yeah, she doesn't care at all.
10:48Yeah.
10:48Do we think Amanda will come back to In the City?
10:51Yes.
10:51You do?
10:52Oh, you do?
10:52Okay.
10:53Because I feel like it could be kind of like 50-50.
10:56I don't know if reality TV is the place and space for her anymore.
10:59But I can't imagine Kyle doing the show and Amanda not doing it.
11:02I think she loves reality TV.
11:04Really?
11:05I think she's like said that to me before in like an event or something.
11:08Like, she's been filming the show for 10 years.
11:10This is her livelihood.
11:11She's not going to be getting brand deals for quite some time.
11:14Unless she breaks up with Wes.
11:15Okay.
11:16She kind of like needs this show.
11:18Okay.
11:18One thing about Rachel, she's going to keep it real as a** with you, Amanda.
11:21So, I guess what...
11:23I'm not like a complete Amanda hater.
11:25Like, if she makes this right, like, I can see a version of myself riding for her one day.
11:30Okay.
11:30But like, she has a long road there.
11:32And like, she needs income before that.
11:34Right.
11:34Okay.
11:34So, Rachel is Amanda's financial planner.
11:38Because honestly, she was making some money.
11:41She had that $170,000 or whatever it was to immediately give Kyle in background, which was like...
11:47She was just like, yeah, no worries.
11:48Like, I got it.
11:49I don't know if mama's got it anymore.
11:51You know what I mean?
11:52Because like you mentioned, like...
11:53That's why I think that she'll 1,000,000% go.
11:56Yeah.
11:56Because she's not brand safe anymore.
11:57So, she can't bank on brand deals, which kind of really sucks.
12:00Because her trajectory up until Scamanda happened, like, she was on the up and up.
12:05She was on the cover of Marie Claire.
12:07All of the Bravo fandom was galvanizing behind her.
12:10Everyone was kind of on that anti-Kyle Cook train.
12:13And now it is the complete opposite.
12:15And Kyle's making more money than ever before, which they did talk about in their little sit-down, which I
12:20thought was, like, really interesting.
12:21Amanda did admit she was like, I think Loverboy is doing so well because everyone hates me so much.
12:26I don't think that's why they're supporting you.
12:27I think it's because they hate me so much.
12:31Yeah, she was giving him zero credit.
12:32She's like, I blew up this town.
12:35Oh, wait.
12:35I didn't think about it that way.
12:37She was like, you're welcome.
12:39Yeah, she's like, Loverboy's doing great because my life is failing.
12:42And he equates it to, like, oh, I opened up about my business and everyone's supporting me.
12:46And it's like, no, Kyle.
12:47Like, love you.
12:48But, like, no.
12:48I think maybe it was the convergence.
12:50It was like a happy accident.
12:51No.
12:52If he admitted that Loverboy was failing and we didn't know this about Amanda and Wes, I don't think people
12:58would have gone and run to buy, like, lemonade.
12:59Right, right.
13:00Yeah, it definitely helps.
13:03For sure.
13:03So, Amanda, you're right about something.
13:07Okay.
13:07Well, Amanda, if you come back, we'll be excited to see her.
13:11Like, we want her back.
13:12She needs to come back, according to Rachel, Amanda's financial planner.
13:16But do we want to see her back on the show?
13:18I do.
13:19Yeah.
13:20It's interesting.
13:21I'm curious.
13:22You know, I'm curious to see, because when would they start filming?
13:24Like, this fall?
13:25All of this has happened.
13:26She's had her summer of weddings with Wes.
13:29Like, how is she doing now?
13:32What's going on?
13:32Like, I want to know.
13:33And will he be back with her if they're still together?
13:36Right, so when Danny and I asked Kyle and Lindsay about the potential of Wes joining in the city, they
13:41were like, I mean, we film in the fall if they're still together.
13:43They were kind of shady about it.
13:44But, like, we're here in July.
13:47I think they're going to be together by September, October.
13:50Like, I just don't see it stopping anytime soon.
13:52I mean, like, anything is possible.
13:53I wouldn't put it past them to just, like, do some crazy breakups that you would like.
13:56I mean, anything can happen.
13:58But something in my heart tells me that they're going to be together for, like, at least through the end
14:04of the year.
14:04I don't know.
14:05Because I kind of think that Wes thinks maybe Amanda could be her, his ticket back on to reality television
14:12via In the City.
14:13Because how do you have...
14:15Oh, that scares me so much.
14:16That's your...
14:16That makes you feel icky.
14:17So icky.
14:18Wes potentially being on the show.
14:21No, because that's kind of inevitable.
14:22But, like, the fact that, like, he might be, like, using her.
14:25Like, strategic.
14:25And, like, she's, like, actually, like, falling in love with this, like, bad character who just wants Bravo fame.
14:31Right.
14:32Because I think he really enjoyed the reality TV experience.
14:35I think Wes really liked the fame.
14:38And I can't imagine if Amanda does a show, she's still with Wes.
14:43How would he not be on the show?
14:45At least as, like, a friend of or a side character, et cetera.
14:47Like, he's going to be filming.
14:49How could he not?
14:49He would have to be.
14:51He would have...
14:51I mean, in a cameo way, some way.
14:55Otherwise, it doesn't feel authentic.
14:56Then we want to know what's going on with Amanda and Wes.
14:59Right.
14:59Exactly.
15:00If he's not there and they're still together.
15:02Bravo's not going to take a moral high ground.
15:04When in the city, like, preview...
15:07Remember that preview they released, like, a while ago before the show came out?
15:10The top scene was Amanda and Wes hugging.
15:12Right.
15:13Like, they know what they're doing also.
15:14I'm kind of surprised that Wes didn't make some sort of cameo in the finale.
15:18I thought we were going to get maybe, like, an update with Wes and Amanda because everyone else had their
15:23little updates in June.
15:24Yeah.
15:24And all we got was this pickup scene between Kyle and Amanda in April.
15:28Why don't we check in on Kyle and Amanda in June?
15:30Do you think his contract was maybe over?
15:32And he's like, I'm done being, like, bullied.
15:33Oh, you're right.
15:34Oh, because he did say during the Aftermath taping with Kyle, he mentioned something kind of, like, under his breath.
15:40He was like, well, this is my last little bit.
15:41This is it.
15:42So...
15:42I think they'd have to pay him more and, like, get him all wrapped up again.
15:45Oh, interesting.
15:46I wonder how much they would have had to throw at him.
15:47I don't know.
15:48I think he would have done it.
15:49Ask financial advisor Rachel.
15:52Oh, my God.
15:53They would have done it.
15:54They need it.
15:54This is, like, where my mind goes.
15:56I love that that is where your mind goes.
15:58Thank you, ladies, for going on this finale journey with me recapping this.
16:03Hopefully, we'll be recapping season two with or without Wes slash Amanda.
16:08Who knows what's going to happen?
16:10We will know what happens at the reunion, which is going to be airing, I believe, next week, which is
16:14so exciting.
16:15I mean, that looks crazy.
16:17Crazy.
16:17To be honest, the fact that they fit so many people into that Watch What Happens Live clubhouse.
16:22That is so...
16:23Talk about financial planning.
16:24They saved some money with that one.
16:26And the outfits.
16:27Oh, wait.
16:29Shout out your favorite or least favorite, Rachel.
16:31You're really just so unfiltered today.
16:33I can't think of any outfits specifically, which isn't great either, because none of them stood out.
16:38But they were just, like, casual for a reunion, which is, like, sad.
16:40Yeah.
16:41They were at the clubhouse.
16:42I'm surprised Lindsay allowed that to happen in the clubhouse.
16:45Yeah, I'm shocked.
