00:00Apex is a survival thriller.
00:03Ms. Theron, in this thriller, you are a woman who overcomes her limits
00:10and she's hunting by a serial killer.
00:15But you think in this film, another theme is feminicide?
00:22As women, we definitely have a gear in our brain that I don't think men truly have to practice.
00:30You know, it's an unsettling feeling.
00:32Women have to worry more about dying by homicide, the kind of femicide that's happening in this world.
00:40The majority of women die by homicide.
00:43And I think that's something very, very real.
00:46And it affects all of us.
00:48I think women just naturally have to have that instinct of I have to look out after myself because something
00:55can go wrong.
00:56Mr. Theron Angerton, you are the bad guy, as we said.
00:59You are a serial killer, but which is the difference between your two characters?
01:05The difference between their characters, I think, is that she is somebody that demonstrates the ability to grow throughout the
01:13film,
01:13which is, you know, I guess just echoing what Charlize just said, whereas Ben is a person who is kind
01:20of defined by Arrested Development.
01:23She's able to best him for that reason.
01:25She's able to kind of figure him out and manipulate him.
01:27She's able to best him.
