00:04A helicopter was helping fight the massive Gold Mountain fire.
00:08The pilot was collecting water from Silverjack Reservoir to drop on the flames.
00:13But during one flight, something suddenly went wrong.
00:17Around 5.17 p.m., the helicopter lost control and crashed into the reservoir.
00:23Witnesses said it flipped upside down before hitting the water.
00:26However, the pilot was 56-year-old Nicholas Dale from British Columbia, Canada.
00:32He was the only person on board and sadly did not survive.
00:36The helicopter was a common K-Max, a special aircraft designed for heavy lifting and fighting wildfires.
00:43The Gold Mountain fire has already burned more than 35,000 acres, making it one of Colorado's biggest wildfires this

00:51Right now, the MTSB and FAA are investigating what caused the crash.
