00:00Thank you for joining us.
00:32The sugars or the monosaccharides are the ones that start with three carbons, so that's
00:39why it is the first sugar.
00:42And because they are very essential ingredients for the origin of life, because they represent
00:48the backbone of RNA and DNA, that's why it's so important to look for them.
01:16What we show with our work is that this kind of molecules can form in the interstellar medium,
01:21before in these molecular clouds, before stars and planets form.
01:27What that means is that they could also form elsewhere across the galaxy, and in other
01:34molecular clouds where stars and planets are forming.
01:37So that means that the ingredients for life could be distributed across the galaxy, and
01:44then that could help life to develop in a similar fashion as to how it developed here on Earth.
01:59So basically, they can be found in raspberries and in other red fruits.
02:05And also in this kind of cosmetics, for this self-done, so it's a sugar that seems to be happy,
02:17I mean, appearing in this kind of fruits or cosmetics.
02:23Thanks.
02:24.
