00:00On the dark night, that was the first time I ever went to IMAX and said could I borrow your
00:03cameras, we'll shoot the action scenes that way.
00:05And I've continued doing that over the years and trying to use the technology more and more.
00:09The thing we were never able to do before, we couldn't do the whole film because we couldn't record the
00:14dialogue with the camera.
00:16The camera's very, very noisy.
00:19And so finally on the Odyssey I said to IMAX, if ever there was a film where we'd try and
00:24do the whole thing that way, it's the Odyssey.
00:26Are you willing to do the same process for your next movie maybe, or it was such a commitment for
00:32you that you're like, oh no, I'm done with IMAX, full of the IMAX.
00:35IMAX is a difficult format to film on, but it's very rewarding.
00:40The image quality is beyond anything else that's out there.
00:44And so it's quite addictive actually.
00:47You know, you sometimes think I'll make my life simpler, like go back to shooting on 35mm or 16mm or
00:52Super 8, you know.
00:54But ultimately, Hoide Van Hoide, my director of photography and myself, we always have that conversation about, you know, how
01:01are we going to shoot?
01:02It always comes back to IMAX because it's just such a beautiful way to make a film.
