00:00I just wanted to come on here quickly and say how stricken I was to learn of the death of
00:09Sam Neill.
00:11When I did The Hunt for Red October, we shot in 89, it came out in 1990, a long time
00:17ago.
00:17And that was probably my first big movie in terms of having a decent sized role,
00:22because I'd done Working Girl and Beetlejuice and things like that where I had a smaller role.
00:27And I do Hunt for Red October, and yes, John is a great director,
00:34and one of the most exciting parts for me was to meet Tom Clancy.
00:39But the cast, I mean, I'll never, I've had great casts, I've worked with great people,
00:45you know, Tony and Meryl and so many other people that I really, really admired, and do admire.
00:54But the, I mean, my God, Hunt for Red October, I had to write this down.
00:58I had to go to the internet and write, I mean, obviously, Sean, Larry Ferguson, Scott Glenn,
01:07Tim Curry, James Earl Jones, Peter Firth, Richard Jordan, Joss Auckland, Courtney Vance,
01:16Danny Davis, Fred Thompson, Jeffrey Jones, Ron Gutman, Stellan Sarsgaard.
01:23And that's just, you know, the more recognizable names.
01:26There's a lot of other people in there who I enjoyed working with.
01:28But my God, my God.
01:34What an experience that was.
01:37What an experience it was.
01:38I got to get rid of somebody who was calling me.
01:40What an experience it was to do that movie with those people.
01:43I mean, every time you turned around to do a scene, you were with this great actor.
01:49I mean, even people like, like, like, Ron Gutman's a perfect example.
01:52You know, I can't even stop thinking.
01:54To this day, him, like, he's smoking a cigarette, he's going to do the work for them,
01:58the Russians, and he's like, Unuminuka, Unuminuka, he says.
02:03Unuminuka.
02:05Anyway, I know that sounds weird, but it's like,
02:08you know, I told you to speak your mind, but my God, Jack, James Earl Jones.
02:16Richard Jordan and that scene in the conference room.
02:19I mean, everybody, everybody.
02:22Courtney Vance calling him Seaman Beaumont.
02:26I mean, I remember that.
02:27I remember, that's one of the few movies I've ever done where I remember the whole movie.
02:31That's what a fan I am of that, that work.
02:33Not me.
02:34I'm not a fan of my work, but I'm a fan of their work.
02:37Anyway.
02:38Oh, my God.
02:41My God, Sam Neill.
02:43My love to his family.
02:46My love to his family.
02:48Wow.
02:51Rest in peace.
02:52No, I'm sorry.
02:53No, I'm sorry.
