00:00I'm not against science. I'm for science. I'm a practicing scientist. I spent my whole career doing scientific research.
00:06The problem with scientism, which is the creed which many people hold, especially in western countries,
00:12the belief that science can potentially answer all questions and that it has in principle answered most of them, this
00:19is very widespread.
00:20Science was actually very humble to begin with. I do not know what's the beginning.
00:26Otherwise, there were all kinds of answers being supplied by the traditional faith and one could have taken them.
00:33For example, the earth is the center. All those things, the answers were there.
00:37But then the scientist raised his hand and said, I'm not sure, I do not know.
00:43It is out of this humility that science begins in the first place.
00:47Some scientists are forgetting that humility and that's why this term has become a pejorative.
00:53Science brings answers to somebody, to somebody. Science doesn't know anything.
01:00Science is the channel.
01:02Yes.
01:02Somebody is hiding behind science by saying, science knows the answers. No, no, no.
01:08Science brings the answers. You are the receiver of the answer.
01:11And what you do with that answer is an entirely different thing altogether.
01:15Keep going with it.
01:15So, don't forget that.οΏ½
