The "Direct Hit Remix" of Kim Wilde’s 1993 cover of "If I Can't Have You" was remixed by Warren "Kommission" Sanford. This extended club mix (clocking in at 7 minutes and 35 seconds) was featured on the Direct Hit Volume 3 DJ-only promo 12" and distributed by ET/Videolink in December 1993.
The original track was released earlier that summer in June 1993 as a fresh addition to her album The Singles Collection 1981 - 1993. It became a major hit, peaking at number 12 in the UK and number 3 in Australia.
